Old Paledrake Soul?
So I'm still on NG. I was told that you can get the Old Paledrake Soul by killing Duke's Dear Freja after burning a bonfire ascetic. I burned one, brought the intensity up to 2, killed her, didn't get the soul. Wasn't extremely hard, just annoying. Googled it and I've only seen a couple people that didn't get it, everyone told them they just got screwed over, bad luck, etc.

Burned another ascetic, bringing the bonfire up to intensity 3. Summoned 2 phantoms, still took many tries. Died a couple just trying to get there. After about a half hour battle, finally killed her again. Still no Ole Paledrake Soul.

Is this a glitch? Am I missing something? I'm burning them in the bonfire right next to Ornifex. Enemies are very noticeably stronger. Freja's laser attack one-hit one of the phantoms helping me. Do I have to burn ANOTHER ascetic? I literally don't think it will be possible for me to kill her with an intensity 4 bonfire.

Check your inventory again. I believe you get another Freja soul and the Ole Paledrake Soul. The Paledarke soul is orange(?) You may have simply overlooked it.

Did the red spiders fall down from the top of the roof? They should. Also... You probably just screwed yourself for NG+ because she's going to go ROAR MOTHA FUQA and probably less than one shot you.

Yeah, no boss souls whatsoever in my inventory.
Tony, I realized that right after I burned the last ascetic lol. I thought starting NG+ would reset all the bonfires to intensity 1 or 2, then I looked it up and am now terrified. ;_;

you should only be terrified if you cant roll/parry/block/riposte, mobs just hit harder and have more hp

and in NG+4 they'll one shot you if you don't have some of the highest defense armor +10'd.
You can't expect someone to be perfect and not get hit in just NG+

all good.
Yeah i agree with you in that respect, but you can't really compare NG+ to NG++++, if you do manage to get that high you can assume the player knows how to avoid dmg/exploit weaknesses pretty damn well. As opposed to NG+ where its still somewhat forgiving of mistakes

No, that's what I mean. OP has used bonfire asthetics to NG+++ if he/she uses another for NG++++ it'll be NG++++++ in his/her NG+ lol. That's all I meant by that.
