Mundane Sanctum Repeating Crossbow:
Heavy Bolts: ~720 damage
Special Attack: ~500 damage
Sanctum Crossbow:
Heavy Bolts: ~300 damage
Special Attack: ~650 damage
Sure, it may be that the Ogres are in fact weak to dark, so I'll try test some more (I just want to test it on big enemies, because of the Repeating's special attack). Mundane really seems to destroy the dark damage on the Repeating Crossbow, but that's not a big surprise.
I would say that for normal bolts you can use the Repeating Crossbow, but for some good damage on a single target the Sanctum Crossbow's special attack would be much better.
EDIT: If someone has some time, we could test the damage results on a human player.
~50m SM, ng+
I have 50/50 fth, int and the Ring of Blades +2 equipped, of course that influences the regular/ dark damage as well.
And with a normal Repeating Crossbow I deal around 550 damage to the ogres with Heavy Bolts and ~800 damage with the special attack. That still doesn't change the fact that it's extremely unlikely to hit your opponent with every orb, but at least it's good for big enemies in PvE.
I thought about that, but if I want to infuse it, it says that it still has a C in dark scaling and since the base dark damage is 0, going uninfused seems to be the better choice.
The base dark damage of the -regular- attack is 0, I'm betting there's a hidden damage stat for the special, and it might well be increased by dark infusion. Wouldn't hurt to test that.
deals more in pvp. but i don't have screenshots
