Is the drakeblood greatsword any good?

it has decent damage and damage scaling, and the variety of damage types is nice, but it doesn't have any elemental scaling, and it suffers in PvP if someone buffs themselves with Great Magic Barrier. buffers are becoming less popular though, so it may be worth your while. I would put the petrified dragon bones into the boss soul weapon you get for beating Sinh the Slumbering Dragon

Which is a lance, probably with less AR than a normal lance.
around 450 damage with some halberd/twinblade movesets mixed in. I've been having an above average amount of success with it in PvP, but I don't think it's great for PvE

never seen a guy winning with a that spear type weapon against me, so easy to parry and the damage compared to real lances isnt good.. the only reason to pick it up is the normal spear powerstance moveset.

It's worth mentioning that the Drakeblood GS consumes the lowest amount of stamina per swing, less than Watcher's/Royals, so it may suit an aggressive playstyle. It also has a unique 2H R2 moveset - the inverse swing of the bastard sword combo'd with the claymore's first 2H R2.

I like it. I have it +5 with lightning infusion, which gives it A dex scaling and C faith, along with 196 phys attack, 71 lightning, and 41(I think) magic. If you have the stats to wield it properly I think it can be pretty good. I like it at least.

some people haven't noticed that the Monastery Scimitar is OP again. either way, the new moveset throws some people off, and the 2h backstep attack has a useful knockdown effect
