Short Sword Like Weapons?

So I've noticed that anything slower than a short sword, isn't as reactive as I'd like it to be in melee. And I need a decent weapon to use on my character. However, I haven't noticed any other weapons that are decent swing time, reactive, etc. that are similar to the short sword. Porbably the closest thing I've found is the daggers in the game. And those have significantly smaller hit boxes.

The longsword or fire longsword in the game for example, are typical sword animations, and react as such. However the short sword, has a different animation and reacts much swifter, or at least it feels that way to me. Are there any other weapons that have the same animation, and therefore speed of the short sword? Preferably not fists, claws, or daggers. They are great and dandy, but I need something with a larger hit box.

If you think it's slow then you are using it bad, I'm using the puzzling stone sword as main wep that has the same if not a minor range(excluding those R2s) compared to the shortsword and the same 1h moveset, you can try to understand how it works or as the guy up here said just get a katana and be ridicously op with those phantom ranges in PvP and the absurd moveset.

All right, only yesterday I was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about its low durability but in fact the dark fume sword is pretty much crazy good if you have good dark bonus. The reach on it is way longer than it looks.

Pssh, uninfused broken ladle is clearly the best weapon.

Hmm, I've only ever tried the Blacksteel Katana. And I was using a shield off hand. I wasn't exactly impressed with it. I'll have to try out some of the other katanas.

Those and the Puzzling Sword

I am very partial to the warped sword and the Fume straight sword. The warped sword has one of the fastest attacks in the game that takes very little end and hits like a truck.

The Fume straight sword is a nice poker that is fast and has range (it is the longest straight sword). It does not deal a lot of damage though.... And unbuffed, well, I switch weapons. Unbuffed it may not be able to hurt your opponent (much).

The stats say the Fume straight sword scales S with DEX uninfused. This is pretty misleading. If you want to see a weapon that scales S with DEX uninfused, the Puzzle Stone Sword scales much better with DEX. Still, I use the Fume straight sword unfused with Dark as a primary weapon.
