Favourite Bosses? (entire series)

Last night, I finally defeated Darklurker on NG+++ and Ive got to say it was possibly the best boss fight in the Souls series. I tried to avoid the cheesing tactics like just using Pyromancy, although due to it being quite difficult on NG+++ I used it until it splits in 2.

Its the first boss where Ive had an actual sense of achievement when I beat it. Tried it on all my NG+ runs but took me another 2 runs to finish. Dodging Dark and Fire balls at the same time, looking for that perfect opening....It felt like what a Souls boss should be. Challenging. No summons if you are struggling either, forcing you to go it alone.

My previous favourite boss in the Souls series was the Maneaters from Demons Souls and Darklurker reminded me of that once it splits.

(Sidenote: I am upset that the Souls series has went away from using more gimmicky bosses now. Tower Knight, Abjudicator and the Dragon God were all brilliant in design and execution)

I don't like anime so I don't care.

I never seen the anime and I don't care about the anime, I only read the manga that the anime is based off, and where FROM like to take "inspiration" from. Loads of armour and mobs designs look suspiciously familiar.

Isn;t that a good thing though I mean if you see a cool ass design why not use it as inspiration for your character, it's like when people say copying a good game is bad. It's like they picked a good game to copy at least

well, I don't really like manga either, but regardless, I don't think taking inspiration from some other source is a bad thing. besides, even if the design of the armors and weapons were different, some people would still think that they copy pasted from some other game, movie, book, anime, etc...

I see, but my point is, even knowing artorias's source of inspiration, I think most people would still enjoy him regardless of the bada** from Guts.

but lots of silly undeads know that time is distorced in derp souls. besides, if they asked who actually killed manus you could just say that chosen zombie goast did. i mean, he/she manage to do so much bullcrap that I don't think it would be unreasoable to believe that (especially because it was actually the truth). also, if I was artorias, I wouldn't want to take credit for someone's else achievement. sounds dishonest imo. artorias sounded like these annoying honorable knights. i think he would't like that either.

It's caused your character silenced all those who knows what really happened. Let's see:
You killed Artorias before you even get to Oolacile Township.
You killed Ciaran because you want to strip her naked.
You killed Gough after he shot off Kalameet cause who knows. Or he just starved off to death on the tower. Remind me, was the stair wide enough for him to get down?
You killed Chester because he invaded you.
Elizabeth is stuck as a mushroom.
You killed Sif because you need Abyss Ring.
Alvina was never present.
You killed Ornsteirn, Smough, Gwyn, etc. whoever might have known what really happened
Basically you kill off everyone in the know, then ask why nobody know what happened?

but artorias doesn't deserve the credit. it's not fair.
i don't see how Sif would be able to talk to anyone regardless of him being alive or not though lol.

Well the way other people see it:
Artorias came to Oolacile. Manus and Artorias died. It must have been a double KO.
Remind me, why was Artorias sword gigantic when you faced Sif and tiny when you faced Artorias? Did it grow like Sif?

now now... there's no need to try to find an explanation for this. like most of the stuff that people made up to explain some of the lore stuff, this is probably just an oversight of the devs.

Flamelurker, on a low SL playthrough. The intro, the music...the "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ RUN and ROLL ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" way I handled it.

Still the best.
