key bindings?
Huge dark souls 1 player, finally got dks2 and I find out they dont give you the option to use normal keyboard keys for different actions. Any way to fix taht? also, how do you kick and jump attack. Old dark souls controls were better, unless I'm missing something. (I'm K&M). Any help?

and why are hitboxes 10 times worse than dks1?

The hitboxes are pretty bad. I found a youtube video that said the mouse double click ability for the special attacks do not work and you have to rebind them in order to make it work. Basically I make confirm and interact the tab key. The q key my right normal attack and the E key my right strong attack. Then instead of trying to do the wierd mouse click thing you can hit w then w+e or w then w+q to do the special attacks. I also finnaly learned that you basically have to wait for the attack to hit you in the face to roll or it doesnt work. The last thing was parries. Parrie has a different sweet spot depeing on the weapon being used. This means that parrying is hard. I just block/roll. Parry is too...unpredictable.

Quick edit. The "R" key is my consume item key.

Personally, I had too many issues with the delay of keys that I just got a usb controller. And while I still prefer M+KB to Controller, it has made the experience 100x better than what it was.

Level up ADP and you wont have hitbox issues.

I don't know what's your problem. I was able to perfectly fit ALL the DS1 controls here. Best thing is to first unbind all the controls from mouse besides attack and heavy attack and then put them back in KEYBOARD controls (notice there are 2 different sections, one only for mouse and other for keyboard).

Also turn off double click in mouse options as it will screw up near all controls and adds a delay. You will have to turn it off each time you enter the game again as the delay will return each time.

As for jump attack and block breaking, you do it the same as in DS1, but with double-click on the timing is VERY hard and still harder than DS1 when you turn it off.

Disable double click feature
Disable ALL mouse keys except what you wish to use as your primary and secondary attack
Rest of the bindings do it on the keyboard tab

My controls are EXACTLY like DS1 on KBM, just gotta fiddle with the bindings till you get it right. The most important one of me is to bind the block and parry on shift and tab respectivley, by default it's on your RMB which is awkward if you're coming from DS1

Jump attack and kick is the same as dark souls 1, forward + attack. Strong attack for the jump and light attack for the kick
Do note that the kick has been replaced by guard break. Hit someone with it while their shield is up, it will stagger them which can then be followed by a riposte.

Exactly this. The key binding menu has multiple windows. Ignore the mouse click one. Proceed to the keyboard menu and change the controls to suit you. You can also google something like "dark souls 2 keyboard special attacks" and find a youtube video on other people showing you. They do not explain ♥♥♥♥ in this game. Especially for PC. You have to do research yourself to figure it out.
