Where to go after smelter demon (DLC)

Fume Knight, or Sir Alonne.

foyer bonfire go down with elevator then take next one down, to get to fume knight, after you beat him take elevators up to get to smelter throne and beat sir alonne, again from foyer bonfire.

Is there any point to the smelter demon? I was confused on this part as well till I figured out how to progress. Reason being is there are enemies and another room past the smelter demon. The enemies and that extra room seem pointless. Doesn't he give you the same souls as the last smelter demon as well?

Fume Knight ONLY. You cannot Fight Sir Alonne until you claim the crown, which is guarded by Fume Knight (and... someone else).
Fume is loacted at the very bottom of teh central tower. You can see his arena lingering down below when you leave the Smelter's passage. Go up a level on the elevator, and seek another one to take you deeper.
