6 At the beginning, 4 Close to the third bonfire https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNF-wd058ww and 1 after a certain boss fight, don't want to spoil but check the wiki if you don't have it yet.

Is it possible to completely screw yourself by using all ten before fighting Fume Knight and leaving one of the Idols in his room alive? Or is the eleventh idol not accessible until after him?

I think you'd be screwed because I'm pretty sure you need the crown to enter the memory.

nah, ive pretty much partially F'ed myself, ive used all 10 of my wedges and theres 1 statue thing in the corner of his room. i just have to fight him on the opposite side away from it.
*edit* you could save the ones you need for that room if you thought ahead. unfortunately i didnt know the things would be there, so every statue thing i found i wedged

Do bonfire ascetics respawn the wedges?

I didn't knew what they were for, so I saved mine until I saw the gank squad 2.0 healing themselves in one of the statues. Then I started using. Beat the dlc with a few left.

Is it possible to get more through bonfire asetics? The first bonfire, or the one you get the other 4 rods, i didnt experiment.
