you get his armor from Dragonbro vendor in Iron Keep
Seems that you need to git gud, sir.
Don't auto lock him. Dodge into him, and always be wary of his back step to attack combo. That was pretty much what I did. Did it with dual daggers.
you can't play this DLC and hope you luck out with everything, you really need to learn when to dodgeroll and the i-frames of said roll
LOL i know whats iframes are(i've softcapped adapt) if you bothered to actually try to fight the boss solo you would notice his timing for attacks change
The only timing of Alonne's that changes is his backflip-attack combo.
And even then it's not hard to dodge.
calm down mr angsty, i did fight him solo. It's you who needs to learn his attack timing. Sir Alonne isn't hard to predict, it's Fumey that's the tougher fight
Alonne is harder to predict and faster. Fumes is harder oly because his moves are so cheap.
Just found out you can also get it by being a white phantom there. Just got his leggings (as a drop, like normally lifegems drop if you're summoned).
Fume knight for me was the real challenge. He took me 15+ tries on ng, his ridiculous damage and move-set that I had to learn through trial and error were primary reasons.
I don't know, maybe Alonne guy starts hitting like truck in ng+ but I don't still see how he is that big of a deal (I also found plenty of points to heal in the fight, so I don't see that being problem either).
Like I said, it's mainly the long fight before him. By the time I reach him I am so tired and annoyed I cant even focus anymore....
If there was a shortcut, or a bonfire right before him, I suppose most people would get him in a couple tries easily.
They actually do damage in NG++?
In NG they are merely useful as meatshields because they hit for like 20 damage......
Smelter, on the other hand, is absolutely impossible to do alone, but even in 3.
EDIT: damn, FINALLY did it. Such a pain.
