best boss weapons for strength and faith build?

the kings greatsword would probably be best for a faith/streght build right? the defender doesn't seem to scale very well to stretgth, and it didn't seem to have lightning damage??

unfortunately not a lot of boss weapons have the most spectacular scaling when it comes to mixing in other elements as well. defenders is likely going to be your best bet, lightning infused and worry about the faith scaling over strength.

I'm going to suggest an opposite approach: Lightning Infused Malformed Skull with Sunlight Blade. It has no scaling, but low requirement to 2h, and has stupendous amount of base AR (364 Strike and 364 Lightning at +5). If you want scaling, Lightning Infused Giant Warrior Club (same base AR as Skull, but with scaling on top), rock your socks off. Best thing about those two is that if the target is immune to Lightning, the Strike damage is universally best type of damage and it has enough to don't care about Havel-grade physical defense.

This is a bit of a difficult question to answer as it depends not only on the weapons themselves but also on the sort of weapon preference you might have. The "innate" faith weapons are, as have been mentioned the following:

Defenders Greatsword:

The strongest faith based Greatsword. It is, however, pretty heavy and relatively frail (12 units of weight and "just" 50 endurance). It can be self-buffed (for the cost of 10 durability) but cannot be enchanted via spells.

Thorned Greatsword:

Slightly weaker than Defenders but it can be buffed so it might be slightly more versatile if you have Sunlight blade at hand (since that doesn't require endurance and lasts longer). Otherwise Defenders is more powerful for PvE.

Dragonslayer Spear:

Pretty decent offensively but this is more of a Dex Weapon than a Str Weapon. If you like spears, however, this might be a decent choice altho Heide's Spear is much better IMO (not a boss weapon tho).

Bow of Want:

Easily one of the, if not the, best bow in the game. Again, Dex based tho (like most bows).

There really isn't an inate STR/FAITH Weapon as you will be gaining most of your damage via Faith rather than Str. You can, however, infuse non-faith based boss weapons with lightning and make them viable STR/FAITH weapons. Again, it's a matter of your weapon preference. Just grab the boss weapon list with high STR scaling and infuse it with Lightning:

In the end my direct advice would still be Defenders, its easily (even post-nerf) the "ultimate" Faith based Greatsword. Worth nothing that altho NOT a boss weapon the Heide Spear ( http://darksouls2.wikidot.com/heide-spear ) is an AMAZING faith based weapon. With pretty much all you faith weapons you will gain your damage from FAITH, not STR (nor DEX), so striving to just gain the minimum requirement in order to wield a weapon is probably worth it, as long as you have points in faith.

Altho tempting I would advice AGAINST consuming boss souls. Sure, you might have no need for them now but you never know when you might want to give another boss weapon (or spell) a spin, only to find out that you don't have the required soul. The souls gained by consuming the boss soul are really minute in the grand scheme of things. It's just not worth it, IMO.
