Why the ♥♥♥♥ would they make a sword so rare and only give 3 enemies a chance to drop it and have that be the only way to obtain it? I waited the whole game to get that sword and I finally farm the first two guys that drop it to death but didn't get it. Now I'm on the last guy and I'm worried to death I won't get it. I can't believe they would make it such a hard drop and make farming them the only obtainable way to get it since there's only 3 enemies and they DESPAWN. My jimmies are so rustled.

i got it on my first save that i lost but idk try magic find stacking lol. I farmed the black dragon sword which is supposed to be super rare without using a single ascetic

Well ♥♥♥♥, the new character I made for the DLC has already gotten pretty much every other rare drop in the game that he has no damn use for, why the hell wouldn't I have THAT one too?

(It annoys me that I'm getting items in my first run on this character that I've spent dozens of hours farming on others)

Most rare or super rare items have Random droprates. So its possible to get such an item first try or you have to farm it like crazy.
Like the mad Warrior Set complete random droprate.

think thats bad try geting drugos hat, a rare drop from a non respawning red phantom that you have to kill both thone watcher/defender and nashandra and then watch the entire credits before you can try again(at least in ng) at least the drake keepers are kind enough to have 3 of them that spwan repeatedly....

I feel you, Drakekeeper's Sword is a total b**** to farm. It's so worth it though.

My suggestion is to use a Soul Vessel and temporarily respec as a pure caster (or use the Ritual Band rings), it'll be easier to farm those Drakekeepers even if you have to Ascetic Dragon Shrine

But is durgo's hat really that worth it? Like it doesn't seem that worth.

i went through 3 ascetics for black dragon sword to drop.....used all the drop chance items too. tears of joy when it finally dropped though. Though i have had 4 Monastery Scimitars drop while trying to farm the armor set the same phantom drops. 6 shirts, 1 hood and 4 monascims later i am now at bonfire level 26...still no legs or hands. Thank god those ogres dont come at me, and ive gotten about 30 dragon bones doing this ♥♥♥♥. At least i wont have to farm any more of those for a while

While I farmed the monastery set I had nothing but shirts drop over and over. I'm at around ng+30 in aldias keep and still need two pieces.

I'm currently farming the dragon knights for a black dragon sword the funny thing is I already have 2 shields, 2 picks, and 2 axes. The darn sword just wont drop.

depends what is worth iit to you, i mean there is hardly any point to farming any phantom if your min maxing, the only reason to have durgos hat is for the looks, or to have eveything.
