does anyone use curved swords as their main damage weapon?
i tried and failed with them so many times in pvp (i am by no means good at this game) i see people use them as a parry weapon and might throw an attack in once a fight but i dont see anyone actually use them. im starting to feel they are a little too slow and their swing speed should be increased ever so slightly.
am i wrong for thinking this? does anyone have a good strategy for using them?

Arced sword has decent ar and swings faster than murakumo. Curved dragon sword hits like a truck and has a reasonable swing speed.

I think OP is referring to regular curved sword, and not great curved swords.

Look into the warped sword, it's pretty bad ass; the shotel is also decent at stuns; just kinda sucks at damage

2h warped sword does good damage and have a big parry window. I almost always have a warped sword slotted.

Scimitar and falchion user here. Don't listen to these idiots: the Warped sword is by no mean the best curved blade.

Yes, its great for its one hand first attack and its cool spin move - but those are senseless if you don't know the basic.

Curved blade is one of those skilled reliant weapon - its only as good as you are. The type doesn't matter, if you learn from the basic, all of them comes in naturally.

Start with scimitar, and try not to spam the running attack.

I've never seen anyone using a single curved sword. But powerstanced curved swords are very populsr because of their buggy hitboxes (the "jump around and whirl your arms like a windmill on LSD" move hits before the animation, which stuns and allows the other hits to land also and therefore does ridiculous damage).

Unfortunately, of the three things people desire in a weapon, speed, power, and range, curved swords really don't have any of those. They're similar in speed to straight swords, but weaker and with generally less range. I'd say their primary draw is a quick recovery time and decent off-hand parrying, but then we're right back to the not-your-main-hand-weapon problem again. Even the Spider Fang is largely used to slow people down to set them up for an AoE, Ricard poison flurry, or Backstab rather than as a primary weapon. The closest I've seen to a "main" curved sword is the Red Rust, and even then I see alot of people using it primarily as a parry stick.

just two hand a curved sword you'll get the parry with plenty of speed and power Powerstancing uses to much stamina and 2 handing a weapon produces similar damage to a power stance.
