I've been kinda slacking with my testing due to my sleep schedule.
Either way, to actually use the mod you need iGP11 or UMX. iGP11 is a program that injects the textures into the game and it needs to run alongside the game. UMX meanwhile is used to unpack and repack the game files. iGP11 may or may not be safe to run, UMX from my limited experience with Scholar seems safe.

I may try to make a tutorial sometime in the future, but right now your best shot is converting the Scholar mod yourself.
Also OOPSIE, I confused you for the other guy that was asking about PS4 buttons. Either way the gist is the same. Find a death message mod on nexusmods and repack your game with UMX or use iGP11 to make it easier.
One thing I might add is that you need Photoshop most likely. GIMP supposedly has dds support since 2019, I just googled it, but I don't know if it actually works. I used to use I think nvidia's dds plugin and while it worked fine, certain DS:R textures wouldn't work with it. Turns out you need to use Intel's dds plugin, because the nvidia one is broken. DS2 might be broken too with nvidia's version for Ps and the GIMP one may or may not work.
Anyway find a random death message mod and open and edit the dds file. Re-save as dds and then repack it with UMX or load via iGP11.
