Drakekeeper with mace is OP Af
The drakekeepers weiding maces are even stronger than Velstadt. They have unlimited stamina and their tracking is just ridiculous

True. I cheese them with poison arrows or if I have a lot of endurance I tank then with a greatshield and try to get attacks in when I can. In my opinion the Greatsword Drakekeepers are worse though because their attacks can completely bypass even the most sturdy greatshields. It's been awhile since I tried tanking one of them with a greatshield but I remember distinctly taking full damage even though I was blocking with my greatshield. I've seen videos of people fighting them normally (meaning actually dodging their attacks and attacking when there was an opening) but they looked like the had reached the softcap for adp/agility (30+ adp and 115 agility) so they had a ton of iframes and were super agile.

Tbh the greatsword weilding ones at least have stamina of some sort. Also you can just release the lock on and circle around them. That has been my whole playstyle with a +10 halbeared. that is virtually impossible against the mace weilding drakekeepers since all their attacks chain into another, have unlimited stamina and track you all the way. You also cannot roll under his swings and is relentless and i dunno if he can be staggered. basically forces you to use a shield and lock on which I find to be a rather dull compared to shieldless two handing but I guess is necessary training for the throne watchers. The unlimited stamina and all his attacks chaining into one another makes them even harder than most bosses. Also the drakeepers with greatshields are a pain but at least they have stamina. But maybe my adp is low coz I only have around 25

Tbh never hard a reason to use a greatshield since i found the drangleic shield and late the royal kite shield. 100 physical block and high stability means you can take one hit and roll away. Got me through the throne watchers coz I did that before aldias keep and was shocked to find nothing. i even attacked vendrick only to realise he is impossible to kill. Figured out you need giant souls and i only had one. Wasted time looking for the entance to procede on aldia's keep and the chain to pull was hidden behind the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dragon statue!!!! stuff like this is why I understand when people say it's the worst souls game

Well you're not going to get any help from me now if you're going to say sh*t like that about Dark Souls 2. It was my first souls game (even though I believe everyone should play the souls games in numerical order) and I fell in love with it. Even with all of it's flaws. It's better than DaS1 and DaS3 imo. If you have a chance to play Demon's Souls first, do it. If not, watch a playthrough or two of Demon's Souls. Dark Souls 2 took a lot of inspiration from Demon's Souls and has a lot of nods to Demon's Souls.

There is a bug in the animation files that allow one attack to transition to another without a "recovery" animation, as the game doesn't reset them to idle.

That's interesting. More people should probably know about this. I'm fine with them existing as they are because we are able to get the same greathammer that they wield (aka the honeycomb greathammer): https://darksouls2.wiki.fextralife.com/Drakekeepers+Great+Hammer

It's a really amazing weapon (and it's looks awesome) so I think we should have to work hard to get it :steammocking:.

No way is it better than das1 and das3. content wise maybe (more of it) but the only good thing about 2 are the dlcs. At least the first half of the base game in das1 before lord vessel is superb except for kapra demon. not just bland like the whole basegame of 2. bland compared to the rest in the series in terms of enemies, levels and bosses. i hate the fact that i was so methodical in saving my souls and titanite shards only to come to realise that i could basically become a god with insane stats would become both a pyro, sorcerer, dark, cleric and dex at the same time and have upto 3 soul vessels to respec yout char making the decisions in leveling have no consequences. which isn't bad per se, just reduces the tension . also Soul memory. i prefer getting invaded by twinks than by none at all. also when did adp become the stat that everyone HAS to have. rpg my ass. also the mess that is the level design that no way a mental map is forming as you play the game and you have to warp all over the place to backtrack. in bb and das3 the ones i've played a bit off they have a hub world but the levels are so interwoven that they don't feel so linear like in 2. even judging from a few clips of demon souls the level design is better. das2 isn't a bad action rpg game, better than most, just the worst in the franchise. best game is BB followed by das3 and how the hell do you like das2 more than das3??????

Hope you are being sarcastic coz that enemy is utter garbage. has to be a bug. either that or he is some sort of mini boss. if they are it's kinda sadistic since we meet the first one after fighting the one with a round shield and straight sword who has a long combo string but still has a recovery animation, all that while being fired lightning projectiles by a sorcerer

makes sense esp since he is the only enemy in the game who acts like this. at first I thought it was a buff all the drakekeepers got if you didn't kill off the caster shooting lightning before ringing the bell. but that wasn't the case. at least the combat in das1 was consistent and enemies were too

It dies to 4 poison arrows. Most OP enemy in the history of gaming.

That's very rude. You have to bow when another player engages you. It's called etiquette.
