As someone already just told you, you meet an NPC is Tseldora(above the congregation/magus boss arena) who can absolve your sins. You can also simply slay Gavlaan and his grave SHOULD appear wherever he was last destined to go to, or where he was when you aggro'd him. Not 100% sure about the grave thing.

Above the Brightcove "boss" there is a guy who will reset your npc kills. Expnesive. But it'll reset it for you.

Reset your NPC kills? It only works if the NPC is still alive. If you kill him, the other NPC will forgive your sins, but the NPC will remain dead
