iirc theres a software that allow you to remap xbox buttons. change it to like X or another button and abandon R1. controller companion may also help you.
It's so stupid that vanilla dark souls 2 runs so smoothy yet dark souls 1 runs like complete sh*t.
Thanks for the tip about the controller. I have messed with remapping buttons but last time I did that it really screwed up my controller and for awhile I couldn't change it back to the normal settings (even when I got a new controller) or something. I think I should get a new controller somewhat soon so I think i'll just wait.
