If MSCHF are behind this it's likely legit, probably?
if you're truly paranoid run it in an offline sandbox and print your return. it doesn't seem to file for you so it likely runs offline

but be honest, you really trust Intuit more than the red boots guys?

Yeah guys go to their website, it's a MSCHF release, they have partnered with Mr Beast before, if they are turning heel this is a BAFFLING way to do so. https://taxheaven3000.com/

It's not going to result in them draining your bank account. It's also not going to produce a fraudulent tax return that looks reasonable enough that somebody might actually submit it, but which is full of problems that cause difficulties for the filer.

I wouldn't be too surprised if it does something other than actually produce a tax return, like eventually turn into an instructional course about not trusting random software with your personal details and incrementing a counter on an online chart tracking how many people attempted to use it as such, but they're not going to steal or defraud you.
I don't see how it would be a prank like that. It's not their style. They are upfront about what they do. Their style is provocative yes, but it's also honest.

It only takes ONE rogue programmer to add code that can steal your personal information. While honest and upfront about their intentions, I doubt MSCHF has the code auditing tools and experience to detect or prevent a sophisticated actor from slipping malicious code into their game.

Unlike most tax companies and SSN companies which could never allow leaks or bad actors to do bad things with your info!
