So, when will they ask us to pay for the next update? (Train Sim World 5)

I was just wondering because they keep doing this bs every year by re-releasing the same game and put a new number on the end and ask us to pay for it again if we want to continue receiving content and updates. Will Train Sim World 4 be the last installment, and will they actually stick with it and work to make it better so that future patches will be free? Or will they do the same thing over and over until we have a dozen of the same game in our libraries? I have four Train Sim World games in my library so far, and all three are exactly the same, and are obsolete and not being worked on anymore, and the same fate will likely happen to Train Sim World 4. I would love to see Dovetail's excuse this time if they can come with an answer to this thread.

Edit: Well, that was quick, just like we thought they will keep re-releasing the same game every year as paid updates.

next month? lmfao. tightest timespan between two TSWs we had was one year. also, TSW3 was pretty much an inbetweening point between TSW2 and TSW4, where TSW4 was the actual big thing DTG was working on over time. TSW3 was just an inbetween step to get financially boosted, as I assume.
So far DTG denied TSW5, saying it is not planned. So there is a chance we can peacefully breathe for two to three years.

They said that about Train Sim World 2 when we got fooled into buying Train Sim World 2020, and then they did the same thing with Train Sim World 3, so I'm sorry if I'm a bit sceptical. And if there is a Train Sim World 5 in the pipeline, why should we buy Train Sim World 4 now? It would be more economical to wait until the next time they do another re-release of the same game.

TSW is from the same publisher as Train Sim Classic - the Game that receives an Update every year. So imagine what their plan is with TSW - my guess is: a similar thing they do with Classic.

No need for TSW5 at present imho. They are still pumping out 'upgraded' routes for TSW4...
The next jump should also feature an engine upgrade. No point otherwise imho...

No chance, there aren't even any announcements for stops and stuff like that... Every tram simulation has something like that.
For me the DLC are only lower middle class and far too expensive for a 😒very, very sad

No current indications of TSW5 yet. Last couple of times we have had leaks or files data mined. Its abit early for all that at the moment as majors 'summer' release usually aim for around Sept.

That won't happen, why would they do it for free when people are willing to pay? The only thing DTG cares about is MONEY, so there will definitely be a new release. For them, it's like printing money

It would be economical not to buy any more releases, so that DTG would have to rethink their business practices

If TSW3 & 4 were reduced to the bargain bin, then it would be feasible. But it’s not, therefore couldn’t care less about a 5.

Yes, I also read that on TSW reddit, that DTG / Focus went on a yearly squeeze of our money. On one hand it's bad, on the other hand getting 3 brand new route DLCs for €45 is awesome. At least that's how it was for TSW3/4. Can't remember TSW2 / 2020.
