Worth the Upgrade?

And take a look at the three new routes included in the standard edition and see if that's to your liking as well. I personally think the three new routes are quite good.

Have a look at the livestreams. If you like at least one of the routes, I think it is worth it. Otherwise you can wait for a good sale. There will be new routes you may like a lot but these will only be compatible with TSW4.

And ignore the flurry of "fake" positive low level steam account reviews rating it up. Same old Dovefail.

Either way, if you get TSW 4 now, it'll be abandoned when 5 comes out next year - DTG are just becoming that predictable.

Underneath the different UI and music it's the same game engine bud. Basically TSW 3 with volumetric fog ticked. Counting the wallpapers is a bit of a sign of desperation. They aren't a part of the game, unless DTG miraculously figured out a way to PLAY them - they're a bonus DTG gave away, and anyone who knows how to make screenshots can do them.
But, whatever makes you sleep at night....

They aren't a part of the game, unless DTG miraculously figured out a way to PLAY them

they are. the Training Center is included inside the core game and it and it's locos are included in it and accessible even if you uninstall all of your DLCs.

Really??? If you can't use TSW 3 DLC's then they're a bigger ripoff than I thought! And if you can't then that's just down to DTG's complete laziness and/or rush to get TSW 4 out so people can give them money.
Either that or DTG purposely made them incompatible so people buy new TSW 4 DLC. - hence, DTG rake in the moolah either way.

you misunderstood... you can't use the TSW3 DLC .pak file because it has a different folder structure as TSW4's recooked DLC .pak files... but if you own lets say Southeastern Highspeed, you of course get the TSW4 compatible version for free, because it would make no damn sense if they just wouldn't

it's the deluxe edition artwork wallpaper in many different sizes for various different screens/devices, and while the first few ones there are in-game screenshots, they are also edited, so I think that's fair, but of course you don't...
