Been wanting this feature for years. I literally built a replica of the controls for the BR185 to use for Zusi 3... would love to get simple Third Party Controller or remapping support.
Hi I have found a program in the DTG forum from a user that tricks TSW into believing your hotas (or adreno) is a RailDriver controller and you can map everything you need to! Even custom maps per train. Give it a try. Using it with my X56 and it’s a game changer. So much more immersive.
Called 'TSW Raildriver and Joystick Interface'.
Do not have the link for it but a search should provide positive results.
Although I have not done a full setup of my VKSim joystick and Logitech throttle quadrant, the little I have done have seems to show great potential. :)

By now I'm just curious, if there will ever be a train sim that delivers a basic feature like being able to use your input device with axis.
I mean its not like you would control a real train based on something with axis...like a stick that you move backward or forward...

There's one since years... https://www.zusi.de/zusi-3-hobby.html
But remember, it's Germany only and it's a train simulator, not an arcade game. ;-)
The cheapest setup are two Saitek throttle quadrants (left for AFB and throttle, right for indirect brake, dynamic brake and direct brake, similar to the "DB Einheitsführerstand" which you have for example on the BR 101 or BR 185) and a pedal for the Sifa.
Why, offcourse! Much less movement required this way
Thank you for the heads up on Zusi, this somehow went by me, will need to look into it.
Also SimRail will bring a patch later this month allowing the use of proper inputs.
The Einheitsführerstand is something quite interesting to me, seeing that it is also installed on modern train like the KISS, while here the cabs are different for most vehicles.
