Can't in good conscience recommend this game. I played Cronous back when it was published by a different company like 15 years ago or so - it was a great time waster while watching anime, you occasionally got nice/rare/expensive drops, spent hours farming and had a talking weapon to grow with you (if you had the money or time to farm it).
The issue with this version is:
- The playerbase is dead. Saw like 2-3 people moving about at most. No players selling stuff (which was an important part of the game.
- There's little to no online guides available, so I don't know if the loot tables are the same for the enemies (I farmed plants for like 5 of the 7 hours and got nothing, while in the past it dropped an extremely rare weapon every 5 or so hours).
- For some reason there's lots of Chinese announcements and texts in this game? The old Cronous didn't have anything like that.
- There's no early game progression. You get lots of OP equipment early so that you could literally go and 1 shot lvl 20's from level 1. I think it might only apply to your first character, and you don't get that stuff on your second one, but it has invalidated the gear progression from lvl 1-60, and 50~ levels of farming plants didn't give me no growth weapon. D:
- Lots of deadzones where your character can't attack even though it's empty space (was a thing in the old game version as well, but that could've been fixed by now).

It was fun maybe 15 years ago when it was released by a different publisher with better English, with an active playerbase, as a great time waster, but now I can't see a reason to play this over Runescape or some other game you can grind on, on your second monitor. The English version in this is worse than it was 15+ years ago.
