Attack combos

I have been fiddling with the attack combo's of Dust but there's one particular attack (Ash Bound) that I can't seem to get the hang of. I can perform it on the ground just fine but not in the air. Sometimes it works but I have no idea which buttons I pressed XD

Ash Bound is the name of the ground throw. It works only on the ground.

But there is a combo that makes you throw enemies from the air to the ground but I don't know the button combination

Hit them two times when in the air, then use the special attack. Note that this locks you down a straight path and makes you vulnerable.

So should I use the Rising Phoenix (X Y) first and then do X X Y?

That's the gist of it. Although I don't quite remember if it's XXY or XY right now.

Also, you can do Y+Down for a nice finisher which you can mix together with Fidget's magic just like Dust Storm. I've gone through the entire game not even knowing about that one, ha ha.

Mild story spoilers: Plus, you can do the aerial suplex on futuristic attack planes five times the size of yourself.

Seen those and in most cases I could destroy em before they could drop anything XD And it's XY. Using it whenever I can :3

All games need more aerial moves. They're the most fun ever.

Also, you'll grow out of habit of always-always using it. The move leaves you vulnerable for a fraction of a second, which can be enough to get hit.
