Dust Crashes On Startup

I've searched the forums for a solution - other people have reported the problem but as yet I've found none with an answer.

The game loads until the ESRB screen fades out, then crashes. ("Dust: An Elysian Tail has stopped working.")

Windows 8
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9550 2.83 Ghz
Nvideo GeForce 670 GTX
4 Gigs ram

I've run the game in compatibility mode for both Windows 7 and XP (SP3). I've run as an Administrator (for both.) I've checked my XNA framework - up to date at 4.5. Checked that .wma and .wmv run with the Windows Media Player (although I think that is a separate bug.)

Any suggestions, @noogy?

I resolved my problem by reinstalling xna redistributables, with installer bundled with the game. I urge everyone to try this method.
Find your directory [SteamLibrary]\SteamApps\common\Dust An Elysian Tail\_CommonRedist, and try reinstalling every package.

@noogy Sorry for the delay, I'm currently using 5760x1080. I've tried setting several different launch options but that hasn't worked. Looking forward to the game working :) It looks awesome from what I've seen. If you come up with a workaround let me know or if there is anything you want me to try out for ya.

Running nvidia newest drivers dual gtx470's, I have gone through some of the later drivers but haven't gone way back to previous drivers... I know hellgate wouldn't run for me unless I used drivers from 1 yr ago so there may be something there..

Having the same resolution and can't launch the game..With my laptop using a Nvidia Optimus gfx everythings is ok...

I played this game last night, and it worked PERFECTLY fine. I went to start it up again this morning and it crashes every single time after the ESRB E10+ thing. To my knowledge, no updates were installed on my computer over the night. Also, I don't know if it could be related, but I also had another game start having weird crashes this morning. Plants vs Zombies Game of the Year edition. It crashes every time I start a new game in a minigame. I don't know if these issues could be related, but they both started this morning when both games worked fine not 12 hours ago.

You could try to disc error check, that worked for the other guy in post. I feel that this is an undeniably OS/software issue. If you run into it again, just tell us your session manger errors or something...

I was having the problem where the game didn't launch, but then I downloaded the Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5 update today and now the game works just fine. If you guys are having the same problem, go to your windows update section and get the latest update of .Net Framework.
I'm glad I'm able to play again!

Reinstalled .NET Framework 4.5 and updated (again) and it still crashes. I've tried tweeting at Noogy a few times for any kind of response about this problem but he just ignores me. I regret purchasing this game and wish I could just get a refund.

Same problem here, I've updated every single redist, drivers, checked XNA permissions, WMP and everything else (also tried on single monitor 1280x1024), game just keeps crashing after ESRB screen. Hope that it'll be fixed some day...

EDIT: I just searched my PC for any kinds of codecs (especially delivered with some video players) and after disabling all of them the game finally run :)
