What are the developers doing now?

Technically developer, singular. Dean's latest title is called Never Stop Sneakin', which was just released last month on Nintendo Switch. It looks interesting, but I'm not aware of any indication that it will come to Steam/PC or other consoles anytime soon.

Who, Dean? Nope, he was the main developer of both Dust:AET and Never Stop Sneakin, the music was done by Hyperduck Soundworks, Alex Kain helped with writing. I think in both games the team was absolutely the same, but i'm not compleatly sure with Never Stop Sneakin...

Waw that is some super hyping news over there ! I hope this time the fighting mechanics will feature input queueing for chaining attacks, one of my biggest regrets with the game, most of the time you had to wait for the animation to end to perform a new attack, I almost put a negative review on the game just for that !

from what i can see he dosent hint at anything. he says hes foccused on his other game ATM, and as a fan of dust the users "would be pleased" with what hes doing in 2018. that dosent hint at dust at all, especially if you actually read his other posts and his past posts. prettty sure hes talking about the animated film Elesian Tails that he was working on for years before dust, which he also talks about in that thread. but he specifically states that he isnt and hasnt been working on dust across several posts.

that being said, when i see another elesian tail or dust game by this guy, ima be gettin it.

I don't agree that fans will pleased with the film, because I saw a comment from the guy who made a youtube video out of his comic, and in that comment, that guy said that the film will not feature the characters from this game.

That means, the film won't have Fidget in it!

No Fidget is a tragedy. I mean that literally. Fidget is exactly what elevates this IP into greatness. Regardless of how well-done it may be, any product in this universe without Fidget is going to fall vastly short in comparison to this game.

Everyone is - rightfully - going to forever ask thing like: Where is Fidget? Why isn't she in this film? Why does the film only feature characters who are way worse than Fidget? Why didn't they make a Fidget film instead of this one? etc.

EDIT: I don't think he was talking about the film though, since the same AMA says:

the original film is still on hold, and I'm unsure about its future.

to be honest I'm kind of happy that fidget will not be in the animated movie, I was really not a huge fan of this character

I'd be happy for any news about a sequel, even if it was just him starting to draft everything. Considering he stated that he was still learning as he developed Dust, I'd say the game is above superb.
