If you want to play HeXen, I would recomend Doomsday. All you need is the hexen.wad file.

Is there a way to play it through steam? If i play Hexen with Doomsday Steam wont count my time spent playing this. I know its a very small problem, but i like to have all my hours spent in steam registered in my account...

I found a way by myself: copying all directory of doomsday (bin,snowberry, etc) in the Hexen directory (SteamApps/Common/Hexen). Copying all files from "bin" to "base", deleting dosbox and renaming "doomsday" to "dosbox". The last thing to do is to copy the HEXEN.WAD file in the Hexen/data folder....now when you press "Play" from steam you will play hexen with the doomsday, steam overlay and everything :)

I know that some files/directory of the doomsday are not necessary doing this, but its just easier to copy everything.

Is there anyone else who has trouble getting Doomsday to run Hexen in Windowed Mode?

I turned on "Always start in windowed mode" and it just ignores it and runs it fullscreen every time. Can't figure out how to get it in a window.

Maybe, check out the in game control panel for windowed mode.

Works also with Gzdoom (personally i prefer it over Doomsday)
