Also, there is a lot of puzzle, i like it because you need to use your brain, be sure because it's a game who is a fps about exploration and dark fantasy. Not like the gameplay of doom.
You can download zandronum or gzdoom port to use it (with the hexe.wad file). There is some tutorial on internet, it makes the game really better to play with options and good render.
The only things you need is "Zdoom". After you buy and download the game, just put all files from Zdoom folder (you can download it on Zdoom site) and put all those files in game folder (C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Hexen\base). Then just remove (or remove+backup) Dosbox.exe, and rename Zdoom.exe to Dosbox.exe. That makes Steam thing you play Dosbox but you actually play Zdoom.Then, when you launch Hexen through Steam, it will simply launch as "Zdoom version". You can even use mouse in menu in that (couldn't in original game) and more settings to adjust.
