Default Pictures Not Included?
I just got RMXP and I'm trying to add pictures to the screen of the default characters faces but the pictures folder is empty. I can add new pictures to use and that's not an issue, but I don't have the face portraits of the included characters.

All the other graphics seem to be included, but did I miss something? I was looking at some old tutorials and they have the pictures I'm looking for with the blue icon (meaning already included and not imported like the red icons, right?). Thanks for any help!

There are no facesets included, because XP does not have an option to include facesets (at least out of the box - you need a script to do so). There's several artists who made facesets for them though. Which have you seen and are you looking for?

I was watching this tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nfd3klpnAY at around 0:38) for adding graphics in text and thought it was a good solution. The icons are blue so it seems like they were included but the video is from 14 years ago, so I wasn't sure if it used to be included but wasn't anymore or if the blue icons mean something else.

I was initially trying to script the picture IN the window, but I couldn't get those scripts to work without breaking anything, so using a 'show picture' event above the window was an alternative (and perhaps simpler) way to do what I want. There wasn't a particular style I was looking for, just ones to use that are actually of the provided characters so I can have the speaker's picture above the window of their text.

I as trying to find that youtube video, but it's not pulling up. Can you give the Title and channel name?

Yep! It's 'RPG Maker XP Tutorial: How To Put A Graphic In Text" on the Blover911 channel

Thank you.
I have been using the export feature to then re image them in paint 3D; mainly turning the sword image ect... into bronze weapons and that such. So exporting the character battle icons and cropping them into a bust frame picture should be relatively simple barring any unforeseen circumstances. :) Of course, then importing the new bust portrait icons into the picture slot.

That's an amazing idea!! It's more involved than I'd hoped since I'm using a good number of characters and I'll have to do that for each one, but it gets me closer to my vision! I'll need to make sure the sizing doesn't make anything wonky but worth a shot! Thank you!

Sorry for the late reply. That picture shown in the video is actually Ralph, the default character of RPG Maker VX. VX did have facesets included, but the bust was part of early pre-order DLC for VXAce.
Blue icon just means that the dev added it to the RTP folder instead of their project's folder.
