My sims are a very diverse bunch and i'd like to move them across to this game if i'm very satisfied with it during EA.
This will be great for any kind of gameplay, including cults, dystopian societies, medieval-style gameplay, etc. Well, for era gameplay, I hope the characters aren't stuck with phones, modern mailboxes, and cars, depending on the era to create, so that we can finally create an immersive era.
The importance of religion on The Sims 4 still feels limited to me even with holidays. Some people might argue that Christmas on The Sims 4 is a Christian holiday, but that is also debatable because of Father Winter (also known as Santa Clause). There is also Easter as well, but that is not turned on by default where you have to schedule that for your sims if wanting to celebrate Easter.
All religions are cults...
That is a commonly held opinion and especially for people who think if a god really existed they could worship any god they want where they think that the God of the Christians and Jews is no different from the Islamic god that the Muslims call Allah (despite the fact that at least some people and especially born again Christians consider Mohammed to be a false prophet) in addition to the hundreds or even thousands of other gods, but not necessarily based on fact. However, I still think that religion from The Sims 4 seems to be very limited besides CaS, build mode, public weddings, and perhaps Easter; although, some people might consider even The Sims 4 version of Easter as a pagan holiday instead of Christian mainly because of the Easter Bunny. As for Christmas on The Sims 4 just as I had mentioned earlier being considered a Christian holiday is controversial mainly because of Father Winter where some people might even consider Christmas on The Sims 4 instead as a secular holiday especially with its association towards materialism.
I am not aware of any mods or cc even from The SIms 4 that make it more religious oriented than it already is and especially when it comes to actual gameplay. Also, you can build a church or even a mosque on The SIms 4 (although, there are no Muslim moon symbol or Christian cross icons yet from build mode or at least not that I am aware of) , but they cannot actually be used really for religious purposes on The Sims 4 besides weddings. You will not find any sims praying on any Sims games, singing Christian songs, or even listening to Christian music. I would not expect Life By You or even Paralives to be affiliated with religion that much either similar to the entire Sims franchise. Regardless of whether someone playing a Sims game considers oneself to be religious or not there is not really a lot of stuff included from any SIms games and especially when it comes to actual gameplay (as opposed to CaS and build mode) that is considered to be specifically affiliated with religion.
