Can't play on Linux.
Starting the game, picking any song (mp3, flac).
It loads, I press play, but the song ends in few seconds and there is nothing at the screen except the map (left upper corner with a plot).

In console output there is nothing related to audiosurf.

The same thing happened to flac files before the fix was published. If your game is updated and has no corrupted files, it must be a bug.

However, you should verify the game files in Steam, just to make sure.
Same problem here.

Checked game files - they are ok.

I'm experiencing the exact same problem.

I have the same problem. Running on Arch linux 64 bit. Happens with song of the day & local mp3 files

Thanks for the video. The problem may be that your machine doesn't have an mp3 decoder (or the game couldn't find it). Could you try a FLAC song?

FLAC song doesn't work too :(

What decoder lib does it need?

If FLAC (or OGG) music files are also failing, then I don't think it's a missing decoder issue.

Please email me your Player.log file. On Linux, it can be found here:
~/.config/unity3d/CompanyName/ProductName/Player.log

Thanks for your help!

Since I have no clue where to mail I'll just post this:

And I have to say that I'm also running on Arch Linux 64bit. Manjaro to be exact.

Try using OGG files. For me, wma files do exactly what you described in the OP. When I convert them to OGG, they work.

Thanks paranoid_fridge. Your log shows this problem:
error Game.cs error. theSong.DurationSeconds is zero or less
(note: the log also showed liblua issues, but Lua actually ran fine)

The game didn't get any decoded audio for the mp3 file you selected. Audiosurf 2 uses a commercial library called BASS to get decoded (decompressed) audio and something went wrong. BASS decodes OGG files natively, could you try a song in the OGG format?

If you want to try it, the mp3 plugin is supposed to be in the gst-plugins-ugly package.

OGG didn't work for me too :(

And installation of gst decoder - didn't help.
