A really smart move
As someone who is REALLY scared of spiders (or just bugs in general), I really appreciate the option to turn off stuff that triggers phobias. I only wish that they could change it for the videos which are mentioned in the same image as the phobia selection screen.

I'm glad to hear it! The videos are definitely tougher to handle since we would have to replace the entire video rather than substitute a single image for each phobia which could add up, but maybe a decent compromise would be to include a warning if the video contains any of the selected phobias so you'd at least know whether you can watch it or not? Additionally for what its worth, the videos are also not necessary for actually completing the game, unlike reading the entries.
Something you could try is blurring the videos with the selected phobias, or making them hard to see in some way.

You tried just getting over yourself? Jesus christ, you're like 1000% larger than an average spider. They're the ones scared of YOU. And getting freaked out by PICTURES of spiders is even worse.

Fears are beat by being confronted, not avoided. Just saying.
Jeez man...I wasn't demanding it. But, even though you have a valid point, have you been to Australia? They have spiders there you are lucky to be 75% bigger! THEY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ INVENTED SPIDERS! That is a real theory--that all spiders started in Australia and then made it to the rest of the world!

I have to confess that I was originally very skeptical about the idea of giving people the ability to remove things from a horror games, but the more I think about it, the more I view it as a good thing.

I can understand how it would be rather pointless to edit spiders out a game if the game was centered entirely around spiders, but when something is only a specific part of a game, I can see how giving players the ability to remove it would help more players to enjoy it.

I mean, not like it affects your personal experience, people should be free to tailor their experience.

I'm not dissing anyone and I'm glad the added phobia options. But if it's a horror game wouldn't the phobia enhance that horror? Generally curious as I have Acrophobia, but in games they don't really scare me.

As someone with Arachnophobia, even in games, I like that they put it in there.

The spider phobia toggle is kinda pointless as they never appear in the game other than as an unused entry.

There's a difference between the thrill of playing a horror game and triggering an extreme phobia. I know someone who has a full blown panic attack at an image that even looks like a spider I guess there's a big spectrum of how intense it can be.

Yeah pretty much. It may seem "silly" or an over-reaction but you have to remember there are like millions of years worth of evolution and influence behind someone's feeling which can make it more intense.
