It has nothing to do with what you're looking for but I haven't recommended it in a while. So there you go.
Combine Destiny 1 & 2
A much better one, and more popular, in my opinion, is: http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-citizen
The Citizen Series
Both are similar to MINERVA, in terms of story, but The Citizen comes clase in terms of quality.
Mission Improbable[missionimprobable.org] is also excellent.
But MI didn't do it for me. I got that they were going for an experience similar to what MINERVA provided (or at least that's what it felt like they ended up providing) but the gameplay just wasn't satisfying and the storytelling was a little on the sparse side.
For instance, most of the battles were just like "throw a bunch of enemies at you at once, clear them out, next time do the same but a little harder mix and slowly introducing new enemies." With a little travel mixed up in between. It really reminded me a lot of the F.E.A.R. gameplay. Not terrible, but predictable and tiring after a while. I think this aspect would have made the gameplay suffer even harder had it went on any longer.
Plus the color palette was a little too contrasting between the different areas and overall everything looked washed out. Maybe that's exactly what they were going for and I missed a bigger undertone but I wasn't satisfied with that.
As far as the storytelling, what little of it there was was told by "Eli". It almost felt like he was put there for comic relief, too, but it did pretty well to distract me from the info he was sharing with me. I didn't catch much else in that department, either through gameplay, exploration or the narrative.
And the ending was supremely disappointing. You don't even get to kill the "boss". I felt as if they were on the verge of beginning the storytelling just as the game was ending.
But I loved the double rainbow.

I guess I'm being a little hard on the game, though. I did enjoy it from start to finish but some elements made me remember I was playing a game and removed the immersiveness for me.
I'm tough on Source mods. My list goes like:
1. MINERVA
2. Research & Development
Everything else feels incomplete.
MINERVA 2 pls. I'll trade you my prized

They're all pretty great and about 1 hour long each.
