analyze is a great QoL skill just to be able to see enemy hp is useful.
sp drain fire is also the only aoe skill the science type characters get that doesn't have "chant" attached to it.
honestly, i think adding "chant" to skills in part 2 and finale was a pretty bad nerf compared to nightmares.
makes the skills take twice as long to use and the chanter can be interrupted while chanting and have their attack cancelled and the chant skills don't do enough damage to compensate for the extra time and sp it takes to cast them .
It pretty much made me not want to use anything that had chant on it.
example : compared to the first game where i spammed the thumbelina/hameln's blood witch mortal force skill throughout nightmares, but never used it in the second game (mermaid and thumby have it, since hameln changed into a warrior type)
also, red hood's vy blast was her bread and butter skill in the first game, but i never touched it in the second game.
ironically, the third game does add some interesting skills in the dlc classes, like red hood gets T-blast, which is pretty much her vy blast from the first game : an aoe wind attack without chant. which is interesting that she still has the vy blast and it still has chant. T-Blast is so much better.
hameln also gets a non chant aoe water skill chant that also speeds up her next turn, which is a no brainer to take that skill.
i know this thread is about gretel, all i'm saying is that the non chant aoe skills are powerful, and mimic is the only class for the science types that has a non chant aoe skill.
ultimately, you can eventually unlock every class and learn all the skills anyway. it's all about what order to learn them in and what class you want to turn them into.
in that regard, i make gretel be logic since logic has the highest TEC stat.
Snow white is in her death end attire(DerQ 2) and i made her into a physical attacker and i maxed out stun blast.
also, side note, every character has access to a skill called "vampira (glitch)" in the DerQ 2 attire. This skill is an aoe that only costs 7 sp and it has a good chance of restoring all your sp so it can be spammed. all the physical attackers should take this skill.
The reason i'm stressing on vampira glitch is because the description just says (damage with a chance to restore sp) and it doesn't actually say that it hits all the enemies, but it does, it hits all the enemies at once , which makes it a solid bread and butter skill. although, it does do reduced damage of a single target attack. single target regular attacks do more damage, but yeah, being able to hit multiple enemies is important
also, on the subject of the logic passives, i assume the person above me is referring to the "widen the reach of the jail roulette" which makes it so that "all heal" hits 3 teammates instead of 2 , which is powerful.
on Jack's team, Otsuu gets the logic passives. I made Charlotte be a mimic primary. . because mimic is a good class and totally not because of her Valentine's looking outfit. .
sorry for the tangent.
TLDR is that aoe skills that don't need chant are king and mimic has the only non chant aoe skill for a magic user.
of course, if you are going physical attacks, vampira glitch is a must have.
