Asking before getting excited of this release

At the end of Mary Skelter 2 Otsuu undid her wish so that little mermaid died and otsuu never got saved, meaning they shouldnt be here in this timeline. Can someone explain? Also who tf is Mary and Charlotte I don't remember them at all its so random

I used to be team IF for a long time but literally all releases in recent years were really bad. Either they released with issues that never got patched, or they disappointed in game design, or the story couldn't live up to earlier parts of a series. Ghostlight did the first two on PC, but they are still working on this as a developer likely handling the port, but IFI is publishing. Wonder if that will change anything. I haven't gotten around to trying MS2 but it clearly had issues on PC, but at least this seems to include all the DLC.
