Co-op not working

Hello, me and my friend got the game but after we both unlock co-op, we some reason can't join via room code? We both tried making our own, putting it in caps and no caps but nothing. I was wondering if anyone had this problem or how to solve it so we can play together. We also can't join by inviting each other.

Had a similar issue to this. My room code wasn't showing up at all to host for my friend, but when she hosted, she was able to invite me via code. I think multi is bugged for some people.

According to some people, there's even matchmaking but we both didn't see that option. We just saw room code and it wouldn't work. A shame though since I really liked this game.
