How do you do the gone dark missions?

It says, "decipher the report, then move your cursor around the SMI map to find the location."

I'm doing that, but no new location is revealed...help!

Thanks. But I need to know HOW to move th4 cursor around the board. I saw a youtube video that showed the white halo around the marker being moved. HOW do you do that???

Just enter the SMI table, then move ur cursor around :) Good luck!

NO! I said, on the you tube video, there's a white halo AROUND your cursor. I am NOT seeing that when I move my cursor in the going dark missions. Look at this to see what I'm talking about.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the video being of the Xbox version of the game, which doesn't have a mouse cursor. I haven't been able to complete these missions though, even though I'm 100% sure I'm in the right place.

This was in the description of another video: "IMPORTANT NOTE: You may not be able to complete a Gone Dark Intel Metagame challenge if you are not far enough into the single player campaign."

Why the hell are the missions on my bloody map if I can't complete them in the first place?!

Same problem here. I'm like 4 missions into the campaign but I still can't do these SMI search missions. Nothing ever happens. Very annoyed.

A few of the "Gone Dark" Missions give you hints as to where they are, like city names, country codes, airport codes and so forth. And you have to click on the spot you think it is before it'll advance to the next area

^this, you cant just move your mouse around, you actually have to click the location. Each thing will have a certain word or phrase to tell you the next location, most of them will have to be googled. For example, one of these I did said the guy wanted to be paid in BNT, which is the currency of a certain area, and clicking around that area will got me the next blurb. It is terribly explained, but good luck!

I've completed 4 of these Dark Missions and never had to 'click' on a area. After I select the first Dark Mission I choose to search and then just move the cursor over an area and let it hover for a sec or two. In fact, you don't have to know where the next location is, just slowly scan the entire world.

Well if you plug in a 360 controller and use that instead of the mouse the cursor always has a "white halo", so that's just how it looks if you're not using the mouse.

It's not that hard. Just read the message carefully, google the location/place or thing and click on the country it belongs to. I had to click, wasn't enough to just move your cursor to the spot.
