Can you play the co-op campaign solo?

I've searched everywhere online and can't seem to find a definitive answer. I know for the Briggs campaign it says must be played with a partner, but can that be AI?

I think I heard from a video somewehre that one of the devs said you can play the coop missions alone.

In IGN's review, they said a good portion of the 14 coop maps can be played solo, the rest require coop.

Nope, four Briggs missions are co-op only.

The majority of the co-op missions are challenges, sort of like side quests. Those can be played solo. Then there are the Briggs missions which have to be played in co-op.

From what I know there are 13 singleplayer campaign missions and another 14 (+2 from special edition bonuses) that can be played in co-op. Of those at least 4 (maybe 5, don't know for sure) are Briggs missions. So basically only a small portion of the game is co-op only.

I think the coop is the single player campaign, like how halo works with its coop you can have a friend tag along, theres also other missions that are coop too.
