In you opinion, is the Deluxe Edition worth it?
Hey,

So I'd like to know your opinion about the Deluxe Edition of the game. Specially the ones who bought it.

Beside the SC Conviction (Played it before) bonus, the other bonuses don't really interest me at all. There are just some weapons and and 2 mission which probably will be available as DLC I guess.
I think they could have made it more interesting by adding the Soundtracks or some Art book.

I've got the Standard edition in my inventory and I'm having second thoughts whether I should activated it or sell it and get the Deluxe Edition?

What do you think about the Deluxe Edition?

EDIT: Thanks for you comments guys, I bought the Deluxe Edition!
Of course you may continue to discuss it and help other peope who have similar questions! :D

If the extra guns, suits and 2 missions aren't interesting to you and you already have SC Conviction, then deluxe seems pointless....I agree that the soundtrack and Splinter Cell Echoes should have been included but in the end it's your choice....I personally bought the deluxe version.

i ended up getting the standard edition from green man gaming mainly so i could get extra credit for the purchase. I would mainly have gotten the delux edition because i like the look of the amber goggles but i decided against it.

Before buying the Deluxe I'd personally like to know if the Aral Sea mission is a Uplay unlock exclusive or if PC just gets shafted in general. Or is Dead Coast just the Aral Sea? I'd like to have all content available to me...

Even if it was Uplay exclusive, you'll still be able to get it. If you buy the game on steam, it still needs Uplay to launch.

As far as i am aware the sp and co-op mp maps dead coast and billionaire's yacht are exclusive to certain editions, these maps are not unlockable by playing the game, they might be available later in DLC?, the muliplayer suits might also be exclusive and not unlockable or not available for purchase through the slinter cell blacklist in-game economy system?. Difficult to say right now because there are no full pc reviews out, but i purchased the deluxe edition simply because of the two extra maps/levels, not really fussed about the spies versus mercenaries extra multiplayer suits and i think most guns are available to purchase and upgrade through the economy system, the guns on offer in the steam deluxe edition are early access, same with the different coloured goggle/lenses. I'm a splinter cell fan so the extra paid on the deluxe edition is nothing really and i would gladly pay £2.50 - £3 per map/level. It should be one of the best games to play on the pc this year.

considering that it is only £5 more for two maps, 5 suits, 3 types of colours for the goggles (the effects being purely cosmetic I'm sure, and 5 weapons (1 of which is a good old fashioned Sniper Rifle which I will be sure to use), yeah I don't think that's too much to ask over the standard version. I've seen a few AAA titles out there with pre-order offers that aren't worth the paper that they are printed on. Other games, like say for example, Borderlands 2 charge nearly £1 for a head skin for your toon, where other games like Black Ops 2 charge £12 for 4 maps, most of which are recycled from old "classic maps" from previous games, considering that they are old maps and cost respectively £3 each, it doesn't make the cost of Blacklists pre-order bonus content sound too bad to be honest.

I'm getting it becuase this is going to be my favorite game of the year. (Other than GTA 5 =D)

The weapons and suits look cool and 2 extra maps will just extend an already epic game. I would get it.

I got it because it came with conviction, even though I hated that game of the series. I consider it the worst. But wanted to atleast give it another try. I still consider it the worst but got the game at a discount. The other stuff is also a bonus to me.

The game can get difficult if you choose stealth missions at the start. The extra gear from deluxe edition does help you progress faster. There's also two unlockable suits you can redeem through Uplay points at launch.

May I ask you a question please Socold? Does this game have the same profanity in it as Conviction? I liked conviction, especially Deniable Ops mode but the amount of swearing in the game, with no profanity filter available, was in my estimation, absolutely unneccessary. I couldn't play the game in the living room without headphones on as it upset quite a few people and it's not a very nice experience to play if you have relation's round who bring their kid's with them, not when the kids want to play the game and I have to explain why they can't to them. It's the only thing that I would like to ask about.

Will that gear be selectable from the start? Because if you have to unlock weapons, like you did in conviction, it may help a little bit too speed up early game play if you already have access to an assault rifle rather than having to hunt down each weapon, and, I really like sniper rifles.

P.S.

With the guys on the forum here getting ready for Speis Vs Mercs, myself included, will you be keeping that user name? Might be worth changing no too Sodead :P :)
