Was Double Agent bad?
Because people are only mentioning Chaos Theory as the last Good game in the Franchise

Double Agent was bad, but Double Agent was very good. Because there are two versions of Double Agent. The first one - next-gen and also PC version, the second one - old-gen version. You should play the latter.

yes would be my answer, it was, but not that bad that you wouldn't play it. I liked the concept. There should have been multiple endings though for killing/Not Killing Lambert. But if they had done that, then they would have broken the plot for Conviction. I thought that the biggest problem with Double Agent was how easy it was, especially with the tacticle EMP add on for the pistol. I also played the WII version, and once you got used to the controls and the down graded graphics, I actually thought the Wii version was perhaps the best one. The one thing I don't fully understand with any of the games since Chaos Theory is why do we need to have so many different weapons now? What was wrong with the 2 original weapons and being able to add attatchments and being able to modify the basic rifle so that it could be a sniper rifle, assault rifle or shotgun when you wanted to use one or the other? Why now do we have to have 30 different weapons which actually makes us less tactically efficient during our missions when you sit down and think about it. I'd love the original modifiable assualt rifle back, it was an all purpose death machine. I know he lost his job and went rogue, but that shouldn't be a defining factor any more now that he seems to have been re-instated this time round and should really have access to his old, updated, equipment.

That's what I'm talking about. X-Box, PS2, Wii, GameCube are old-gen versions. They are like Chaos Theory 2.0, especially on Elite difficulty.

Devs already discussed this several times in different interviews, Legacy weapon management was too slow. It doesn't suit well for new three style (ghost, panther, assault) paradigm, fast paced stealth or full fledged action. Another reason for using several weapons is the lack of buttons on gamepads. That's why you don't have two buttons for lethal and non-lethal close quarter combat, instead you switch it using weapon/gadgets selection wheel. That's why it's not possible to bind a button for alternative fire, and devs did additional weapon - a crossbow with different types of arrows.

Original xbox version was great it even had coop missions. The next gen pc/xbox360 were AWFUL.

This is the game that, after 2 levels, stopped me playing the franchise.
