That's why when they've made relatively open areas which you can visit twice before and after a checkpoint (like the first three areas of Private Estate mission), you could notice that the game doesn't have persistence. Already knocked out enemies are disappeared, broken light sources work again, etc...
One of the most obvious examples: in the last SP mission you could kill three snipers from the very beginning of the level using a sniper rifle. Then going through the first checkpoint and restarting it you will see that all snipers will be back. That's why Grim's missions don't have checkpoints at all.
Yeah, it made it so "good" that I uninstalled this crap and won't touch it again.
And btw, why the f*** do I have to play a toon that seems older than my grandfather?
It's unbeleaveable how stupid players are ... go play CoD with 12years old kids... must be more your "level"
I'm guessing (since you didn't mention its name) you're referring to the Hackers' Den mission offered by Grim.
The side missions in Blacklist are designed to offer solo/co-op in the three gameplay styles;
When I played the Grim missions, the first thing I did was go for the Dead Drop, HVT, and Laptop. Once collected, I didn't have to bother with them again, and could focus on the objectives. The fact Grims' missions don't have checkpoints can be a little frustrating, but these are designed to be stealth missions. You take you time, learn the patrol routes of the guards, use gadgets for distractions, all the things that make Splinter Cell great. Once you have mastered these and managed to complete the mission, you then focus on the guards undisturbed bonus, and last thing you work on is your time.
Finally some tips for the Hacker's Den mission; Be patient and take you time, Lasers will have a fusebox nearby so look for it and shoot it, you don't have to complete the objectives in order.
If you want to do it without disturbing the guards you have to get the timing exactly right, slipping around the side where you wait for the guard to move past, wait for the sniper to stop eyeing up the truck and the guy on the other truck to look away whereupon you slip in, grab the data, wait for another minute for the guards to do another circle and wait for the sniper/truck guard/patrolling guards to all look away from the entrance so you can make a bolt for the side of the guards truck and use that as cover from the sniper. You from then on its pretty easy but all that happening sequentially without a single mess up is damn hard, especially when you gotta do it all again if you get spotted at any other point during the operation.
