Crashing after xx minutes
Any solutions to this crashing issues yet? I rather not play with borderless window mode, so don't even suggest it. :)

Game crashes after 20-23 minutes of play. Doesn't matter if I'm running dx9 or dx11. Also there is no way to re-install the game without downloading it all again which is unacceptable.

I've heard the 1.03 patch screwed many people over and no way to revert back without a full re-download.

Last i heard from them were them asking me to change my Uplay password to something they specified and they were gonna test it internally. That was 3 weeks ago and my ticket is on hold.

Well, let me know if anything works. I added you as a friend.

Just to keep all stuff together, EbonHawk wrote this in another thread.

Hmmm, just spent 45 minutes playing without a crash, but I think that's not a definite fix...yet. But I tried manually reinstalling the stuff in _CommonRedist (VCRedist and DXs), and I also deleted my videosettings.ini file so the game could generate a new one, since my game was crashing constantly when I would just tweak ONE AA setting or AO setting. Also, after resetting those graphics settings, it's back to DX11, but the first two graphics settings (Texture and something else I don't remember right now) is now set to High, instead of Ultra. That's a lot of changes to narrow it down to what actually fixed it, and if it's even fixed at all because it might start crashing again. Who the hell knows.

In my case the problem is the online mode on Uplay. When I turn it to offline mode, everything is working perfectly without crash. Multiplayer has never worked for me.

The main fix for me is to roll back my splinter cell to 1.02. Hit me up if you want invite to IPT so you can at least play single player.

Played about an hour last night without a crash, so maybe it's fixed now....? I can't seem to find the time to game for more than an hour at a time it seems, but at least it's not crashing once or twice a session now!! BIG improvement. I'm afraid to mess with the video settings again though, because it started crashing every time I made a change to them before. But the game is ultra-laggy in a few places in each level, especially when using the sonar vision mode. As soon as I turn it on, the game's frame rate drops from around 60 down to about 15. Really annoying.

I bought it a couple of days ago, and I am getting the "23 minutes" crashes too. "Nice" to see that this has been a known bug for so long without if having been fixed yet.

black_dx11.exe needs to access the internet otherwise it will crash after 20mins. Check your firewall.

In my case it was the v1.03 patch that made the game crash. Gone back to v1.02 and it's working fine without crash. Multiplayer never worked for me and I don't know why.

Did a full re-install of Windows 7 64bit and now everything is working perfectly with patch 1.03. No crash and multiplayer is working for the first time since I bought the game. Don't know why. I've never changed anything in Windows that I know of that would give me problems with this game.

I bought a physical copy of this game a couple of days ago and I'm having the exact same "23 minutes" crash, every single time I play (running the latest patch). It's always the same "Blacklist_game.exe has stopped working" error. This is getting so frustrating. Tried just about everything, lowered my video settings, edited the videosettings.ini file multiple times, followed up tips from tech support, etc. Re-installing Windows just isn't an option for me. This super annoying bug needs to be addressed by Ubisoft ASAP.

@keytracer: you mentioned black_dx11.exe needs to access the internet. Where would I find that file on my PC?

Anybody else have any ideas/fixes?

I have limited it down to some network tweaks I did when I first installed Windows, 3.5 years ago. I'm not sure which tweaks, but I'm trying to find out. Have you done some tweaks to your Windows installation sometime between when you installed Windows and now?

I don't think I've ever changed any network setting in specific, and I've only installed Windows 7 about a year ago. The weird thing is other games such as Far Cry 3 run just fine through Uplay. I also tried disabling my antivirus software, but to no avail so far.

i never have any problems with any game not since i stopped caring about auto security. i keep the user account control settings all the way down. i keep an eye on my firewall acception list and if i dont want something sending or recieving information i use windows firewall advanced and make a rule sayin it cant. ive had smooth sailing with this setup, windows uacs is annoying you can tell a program to run as admin.. but in some casses programs need to use others. so they all need permission. who needs that mess . also no antivirus.. those are annoying ummm, normaly you can get a pretty good idea where the problem is by looking at the event viewer logs, not always though. its in control panel - system ans security - administrative tools....
