At least 3 of the missions are idiotic. The Swiss mission is total waste of time.
There is no way to finish the Swiss Embassy without a huge helping of luck. No stealth, no options, takes an hour just to lose in 120 secs because the mission objective is changed.

The game starts rough then fails -- the controls are confusing even when they dont go off and decide to do something stupid. Too often, instead of quietly taking guard out ... stand up and sing Hail to the Chief as loud as you can. Not even funny.

Disgusting Disappointment, not worth $15.

refresh my memory is the swiss embassy the first one or the second one where you have to keep going over and over?

Its horde mode, its not supposed to be stealth.

actually it dont matter if its supposed to be stealth or not using stealth in any mission can help you survive

Every mission is possible to pass succesfully through ! The developers played every single mission in this game more than once, without any " cheats " . If humans passed these kind of missions before, it is possible to pass them. You just need to think much more.

the swiss embassy is a very difficult mission I was never able to beat it but I got to the last round the only reason I could not beat it is because they stuck a stupid time limit on catching both priorty targets for that round which I thought was ridiculious but other than that just try to keep them from actually finding you while you take them out a few at a time I use a lot of sticky shockers and mines for this as well as frag gas and even incendary grenades used at just the right time in just the right places. Im not saying it is easy I usually die more times that I dont but it can be done.

what really pisses me off about this game , and I like it, is that when you make one mistake in any mission it will put you right back at the beginning. It is infuriating, not all missions but some , if you have only an hour to play a mission and you get spotted by one guard even though you may have killed twenty of them it's right back to the start for you. Have it happen six times and you are about ready to hurl the keyboard through the screen. Then there is the fact that some weapons and gadgets do not work on guards like they should , I shot a terrorist disguised as a construction worker with a 45 caliber pistol and it dinged his hard hat which flew off but he's still alive. Then you have that sub machine gun the MP7 considered the most powerful subcompact assault rifle in existence with 4.7 mm rounds that can penetrate body armor. The designers of this game must not know this because it is as useless as all the Submachine guns in the game and technically it is not even a submachine gun! Then you have 'armored' guards that can take a whole clip at point blank range of 'armored piercing ' rounds and still kill you with a shotgun blast. Why do they call them 'armored piercing' rounds and charge you for them? Were they made in Mexico? lol ...then there are the killer doggies, don't let two of them come for you they are LEE AH THAL. Sam is supposed to be a badass ninja spy merc navy seal dude but he only has one kill move in hand to hand and if you fail it he just falls apart and gets his a s s pushed and shot like he was a dizzy cheerleader. Sam Fisher is basically a killer cat burglar. I know it sounds bad but I still like the game it's could be better is all I am saying. I put up with the flaws so I can shoot me some jihadist scumbags. lol great fun....

A little hint: Go for " Ghost playstyle ". Then you will see more success and also will not care much about weapon's damage and stuff like this. Because nothing in this game is more powerful than a good timed melee attack from behind and some shots with electro shock darts using the cross-bow.

every point Buzz just made is right on the money as much as I love this game along with the rest of the splinter cell series a lot f it is straight up B.S. well for one nothing pisses me off about any game more than having to play a whole level over or even half the level if it has check points automatic or other wise. and like he mentioned about the guys with helmets a big load of crap but I found a way to kill them oneshot works without fail everytime not exactly silent but still effective. They might be bullet proof but hit them with an incendary grenade and they go down in a screaming ball of flame.

I think opinions vary at this point !

However, the point about these heavy-infantry guys is correct. You are also right about the icendiary bullets. But I remember taking them out with ONE headshot using a Sniper rifle and/or assault rifle! I could be wrong.

I must say, I think that the idea with heavy-infantry is good, but it just does not make sense fighting some sort of " Talibans " in Afghan mountains using shields, wearing heavy gear and also having some sort of night vision wearing spec-ops as a reinforcement. This does not fit in the whole story at all ! These heavy-infantry guys are also a bit too heavy if you ask me. I mean, there is no kevlar helmet that can stop a 7.62 and even a 9 mm bullet from a distance of like 1 meter lol. This does not make any sense. It's like, you can't kill them with one shot but you can kill these heavy armored infantry guys with bare hands. Okay ?

your right it is possiable to one shot them with a sniper rifle I have done it a few times but more oftern than not the first shot all you succed in doing is knocking off thier helmet and them going there he is then you have the whole friking base after you. Pluse I dont know theres a sort of satisfaction you get from hearing them scream when you hit them with an incendary kinda like yea ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ burn in hell. guess because of all the times they piss you off with the instances I mentioned above. And your right theres no kevlar helmet made that I know of that can stop a sniper round so yea its a bunch of crap. A head shot is a head shot and that equals one shot one kill.

Obviously it is just a game so not all things can be realistic, even in a Tom Clancy game.

However, despite me only having the game for about a week now and only really starting to play it about a day ago (just finished my second night play) the helmet/armoured guys really aren't a major concern for me.

The only Splinter Cell game I ever bothered to use sticky shockers was in Double Agent. In fact, in Conviction I never used anything else except a silenced pistol and sometimes my secondary weapon in rare occasions. Everything else was melee.

However in this game, I use distractions often, especially for the armoured guys so they turn around to look the other way while I shiv them in the neck. Or I'll use a vocal distraction, circle around and do the same.

Yeah there have been a number of checkpoint restarts for me but now that I have my stealth upgraded to the max, I can start to do the things I used to do in previous SC games.

I seem to be about 50/50 Ghost & Panther (more or less one or the other depending on the mission) and rarely get into firefights. Perhaps in my second play though I'll go a bit more combat, but for this type of game, doesn't seem as satisfying.

Well I just finished the Swiss Mission tonight. Only had to retry wave 4 four times and wave 5 once and I did it. The first three waves was nothing but a stealth streak.

All I did was climb along the walls below the balcony areas to avoid the guys on the ground floor and those on the balcony. Wait for one or two to walk upstairs while marking them so I could track em, wait until they both walked past, climb over, kill both from behind, climb back over onto the wall again.

Then wait for another to do the same and repeat.

Then some would look over the balcony, then I would climb up quickly, grab them and toss them over to the ground below. An enemy would round the corner below and freak out over the body. He'd come and check it out, I then dropped onto him and then I quickly climbed back up onto the wall.

There were a couple of times they eventually spotted me, but I was able to flip over the balcony or drop to the ground and by the time anybody got to my position, I was hiding somewhere else..... Then rinse and repeat.

For the two HVT's, I had to take a few more risks but grabbed one at the top floor and subdued him in that elevator hole thing.... While the other guy was by the main entranceway. He was surrounded by several guys, I crouched straight in, took one guy out right in the open, the rest were alerted but it was near the left side where there was a lot of shadow and objects. They all ran to my last known location while I flanked around and grabbed the last HVT and took him to a quiet spot. The rest ended up in my above trap along the wall.

Granted I only had 30 seconds to spare after I captured the last HVT, but I did it..... Forced me to take that chance of course, but it worked.

To be perfectly honest, I found the first Dead Drop mission a hell of a lot harder than this one, mostly because it seemed there were far fewer areas of shadow to work with.... That and those stupid dogs.

My main issue is Sam spazzing out and leaping over something you told him to take cover against, usually landing smack in front of an enemy and getting shot to bits.

The embassy missions are tough, especially since it means forgetting everything you know about playing Splinter Cell games. I'm sure you can ghost them if you take enough time, but there's a lot of risk there. I usually go for panther and just open combat if I mess up and they spot me.

For HVTs during the embassy missions the crossbow is your friend, fully upgraded with shocker and gas bolts. You can bag and tag HVTs once they're incapacitated, you don't have to grab them while they're conscious.

the first dead drop mission was easy if you go into the alley around the outside of the building you have to go out the window to and scale the drain pipe to get there but the enemy has no way of getting in there even if they do spot you so I just make short runs in and out of there taking them down and between waves when I go to re stock I lay out as many sticky shockers and mines as I can in door ways and stair wells and areas I know they have to walk through and just let them eliminate them selves in fact one time I was in my hiding spot and heard a mine go off and then saw had to be 20 people run across the street into the building on my side and it sounded like I had tossed a pag of pop corn in the micro wave for about 5 seconds and then I got the all clear and they said I had 3 minutes or what ever the time was until the next wave.
