Cant Connect To The Online Servers Solved

Turns out Its the New Uibisoft Connect launcher. This fix by another user will temporarily fix the problem untill they if ever decide to fix it themselves

1. Go to your Ubisoft Connect install folder (Ubisoft Game Launcher). Find the file "version.txt". Copy the file or the number somewhere else.
1,5. Exit Uplay.
2. Uninstall Ubisoft Connect. Don't need to delete your games or savegames.
3. Install an older Uplay. The one before Ubisoft Connect. Link below. DON'T LAUNCH IT after installing.
4. Replace the version number in the "version.txt" file or the file itself. This is so that Uplay won't update to the newest version. When they'll have an update, it will probably update, so you might wanna do this everytime there's an Ubisoft Connect update unfortunately.
5. Now you can launch Uplay, login and play.


1. THE PROBLEM
it has to do with the game not recognizing that you have a game key despite purchasing it properly via steam. in this link https://forums.ubisoft.com/showthread.php/820751-Splinter-Cell-Blacklist-Crashes-after-23-or-24-minutes-gameplay?p=11932818&viewfull=1#post11932818 A user called Louiscarr details what the problem is. He says he bought it via Uplay and he has this problem as well.

Another thing is that it seems to have been a problem with the 1.03 version of the game. After this new version Ubisoft removed the Deluxe Edition from their online shop but it was not removed on steam. Id guess that Value didn't know about this and so the deluxe version is still purchasable via Steam.



2. 1.03 PATCH
"Insure blocked players cant join games"

This little patch in version 1.03 may by why we have this problem for two reasons. Since the Deluxe Edition was removed from Ubisoft, now when you purchase it via Steam it may cause Ubisoft to not recognise that you have a game key when it checks for it.





3. CONFORMATION ABOUT THE STEAM KEY
so a friend of mine and I tied to copy and paste the game key for the game and when you confirm the key it says this in red text, This CD key or activation code is invalid. Please try again. Now he tried to activate the code for his Zombi game and the red text said the game was already activated.




4. CONCLUSION
So since The Deluxe Edition is not on steam, Ubisoft is saying that your game key is not there or whatever and this is why we have this problem. Patch 1.03 also causes people with much older games keys to have the same problem.




5. HOW TO FIX THE ISSUE
Unfortunately the only way is to submit the problem to Ubisoft via a ticket on their support here, https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/help/contact just tell them the truth that you experience the problem where it crashes and that you can not connect online no matter what they say in their solutions.

I and a few others have done this but in the past it seems that people where not getting any responses for 3 or more weeks so you may have to wait a while for a response. Please let me know if you get the problem sorted on your end and add problems you have recently experienced.

You do know that people with the base game have the issue right? I bought the game with a cd, retail,....and it does not work for me ether.

Yes i am aware of this it seems that the 1.03 patch may be the cause of this for you but because I and others went and bought the deluxe Edition via steam we to have the problem as well.

Turns out their servers are to blame but these kind of problems started with the latest version it's just now everyone is affected instead of some.

The crash part is due to them sending a request to see if you have a cdkey but the server that handles that is down so the game is forcefully shutdown due to it thinking you've pirated it.

Online component requires that cdkey authentication too I believe.

This is ridiculous. They should update the game or something so at least it doesn't crash.
