Good PC co-op stealth games
My friend is going to be getting a new PC, and we both like stealth/action games and co-op games. I know ths game has both, but I need others. Doesn't matter if they are old, expensive or splinter cell, but I need Ideas.

trying to stealth in payday 2 is as hardcore as it gets, i think ive managed to stealth only the most simplistic jewel heist in the entire game
dont underestimate the level of stealth "hardcoreness" payday offers. enemies almost instantly alert to you, and that is effected by what outfits you where, how bulky your guns are, etc. you have to sneak around and disable alarms, do all the same stuff you do in blacklist, and its not third person, so the gun play is 10000 times better.
will you instantly fail the mission for not being full stealth? no, but youll be stuck in a gun battle that could last for up to 20 minutes, dying as you run for the getaway van.

Sniper Elite v2 and 3 are good stealth co-op games to try out if you like sniper games with realistic ballistics.

i kinda have to second this. i got payday as a game for me and my 4 friends to shoot tonnes of cops. ... turns out 2 of the 4 (original ) classes were more geared towards stelth.

i had tones of fun stelthing in this game with my firend... most of the misisons dont feel the same.. it takes time to figure out how you are going to stelth it and even then there can be guard roations that you would not be expecting.
not all missions can be stelthed, but most of them can and some are harder then others.

stealth co-op in payday is suprizingly good, as sometime the best time to act is when 2 things are happening at once, or you take out a guard but some one spots you and you need some one to get the witness while you deal with the guards pager.

although it might not seem like a hardcore stelth game, it really can be. pulling off each heist without the alarms going off ane becomming a horde of cops is an art.

completing each mission for the first time stelth make you feel like such a bad ass.

there has been alot of changes to the game in the past few monthes so i cant say the game is 100% like how it was when i was playing it, but i am sure you can still stealth the lvls in all the fun that it can be.

taking out guards/cameras/camerarooms/keeping the civlians under control(as they can call the cops) etc.

what about monaco??

In case you're still searching... Far Cry 4 could be a good choice. It has 2-player coop, open world and plenty of different strongholds to clear, be it stealthily or guns blazing. Some of the Splinter Cell games, namely Chaos Theory, Conviction and Blacklist, have pretty good coop campaigns that also complement singleplayer storylines instead of being the same thing but "with two people this time".

Personally wouldn't recommend Payday 2 for coop stealth. It's "hardcore" because of questionable design decisions and technical flaws, namely shoddy position sync of both players and NPCs, which results in moderate to insane lag when it comes to detection of client players by guards/cameras/civilians. Shooty-shouty stuff is the main dish in that game, not stealth.

There's also Clandestine, an assymetrical cooperative stealth game, where one player takes on the role of the operative, doing the actual infiltration, and the other plays the hacker-coordinator, working behind the scenes, compromising security systems and providing intel. Don't think there's been anything quite like that before. It has good ratings, and most of the stuff that I see in negative reviews can be easily applied to SC: Blacklist that I'm playing at the moment, so might wanna give it a try :)

Thanks man, but I've already played FC4 on console to 100% completion. I've heard of and considered clandestine and of course SC: blacklist is on my to buy list, so thanks for the 'intel'

I would have to totally disagree without you. I've been playing PD2 for over 200hours, and while you can experience issues with spotting lag for non-hosts, I think it really comes down to connection stability, since it happens very rarely for us.
This time around, I'm playing through Farcry4 with a pal (2 player only vs. 4 in Payday), and not without being spotted through trees and walls. The stealth part of the mission isn't that exiting either, it's way too easy to just lure the guards with stone throws. But what REALLY bugs me, is than my friend can only help me complete side quests, and will not gain any collectibles or achievements while playing. He can't even unlock last tier upgrades, because he can't skin the rare animals...
Payday 2 takes way more teamwork & planning, and is much more satisfying to complete in stealth.

You could try Aragami
There's a co-op mod for Thief.
