Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist

Playing the game in Windows 11
Hi. Did anyone figure out how to run the game on Windows 11 PCs? I tried running the game in Windows 7 and Windows 8 compatibility mode without success. The system specs on the Steam Store list as compatible with Windows 11. If you are running the game in Windows 11 can you please share with me what you did to make it work?

It works fine for me. The only problem was that it opened in windowed mode and I couldn't get out of it. I closed the game, let Geforce pick the 'optimal' settings since that forced fullscreen and now it works fine. I haven't had any other issues. What problem are you having when launching it?

The game doesn't work for me either. When I hit the play button, it seems that a window frame is drawn and then it disappears.

Hi, could you show your graphics card model? My RTX4090 meets the same problem. Thanks!

Hi All. MadBone12, the issue on my PC was when I tried to launch the game from the launcher or clicking on the game .exe file it crashed after about 2-3 seconds. I'll try what worked for you in letting Geforce pick the optimal settings. Thanks.

I tried using GeForce to optimize the game settings without success. Also tried updating drivers without any luck. I did research and tried several ways to get the game to launch; I am out of ideas. If you think of anything else and let me know I'll give it a try. Thanks.

Who ever is still having start up issues, it's do to the systemdetection.dll. Navigate to your Blacklist installation folder: ...\Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist\src\SYSTEM.
Drag the systemdetection.dll file to another folder or your desktop (keep it for later in case of patches or updates). Try launching the game again. Once I did that the game started right up. Hope this helps!

As for the OP, you shouldn't be thanking ubi. Their reps copy paste generic troubleshooting stuff in every post. The real value is the steam customer whom did the troubleshooting for u like Samurai above.

Ubi has alot to learn about games as a service. They secretly removed coop in blacklist, then later, the shadownet feature of the game, if you didn't create a save profile earlier you probably can't access your deluxe gear you paid for earlier now.

Had to manually copy my old save from my old rig since ubi secretly disabled cloud in this game this week.

The list goes on, they never learn what games as a service means.


Had to disable vsync to stop the constantly low frame rates on this new rig. There's random frame dips to deal with on this win11 install after that is solved. Anyone with tips for that pls do share.

Hi everyone. After reading what Enigmagmatic wrote, I tried what Samurai Kitten recommended and it worked! The game now launches and I have started a play through. Thanks for the info. Only remaining issue is that the game keeps crashing every 20 or so minutes. At least, the game begins again at the most recent check point so very little time lost. I am enjoying getting to replay one of my all time favorite games. Thanks to all people that replied to this thread. It is a nice feeling when multiple minds work together to find a solution.
