Some Suggestions & Issues
Just want to start off by saying this is my first post on steam forums, so if the formatting is weird or off, sorry. Also, I've tried to be vague on anything story adjacent, but if I should have spoiler tags on things, please let me know.
Second, I absolutely love this game. The relaxing music and the cute pixel graphics are amazing. I loved Apico, so when I saw a frog based game by the same creator, I was so excited to jump right in. The graphics of the frogs in the encyclopedia and in the world are so adorable and scratch the wrinkly bits in my lizard brain.

I do have a few suggestions and/or bugs I've ran into through my play through.

Suggestions

- When using the quantum paint on frog furniture, it seems to also paint the frogs. It gives the frog a hazy purple overpaint. It would be nice if the frogs kept their original color and a way to unpaint items without having to break them and place them down again.

- It would be nice if the variants of the frogs had their own sub-pages that showed the trait values and maybe art like their main counterparts.

- It would be great to have a more open area in the Nexus to build and customize. While there are more open areas in the game to build in, players are more likely to settle in the Nexus as it holds gateways to all the other maps. It would be nice to have the space to build a cute water garden filled with all of the frogs you've created.

- Perhaps once you've found all the variants, the corresponding Lilly pad in the HUD would change color to show this.

- I know the chest color-coding is new, perhaps we could have an option added to remove a color tag without having to break the chest and pick it up into your inventory.

Bugs/Issues:
I used an xbox controller through my play through and a lot of the issues I found involve using a controller.

- I couldn't seem to use or select the slider on the rain machine while using a controller. I had to unplug my controller and use my mouse in order to select between rain or clear. I did not try the snow machine so I'm unsure if it does the same.

- I was unable to place carpet. I accidentally broke the green carpet in the empty house and when I tried to place it back down, the transparent green carpet icon would hover over any chest, machine or frog that would be nearby. By nearby, I mean the entire room. So I resigned myself to having an asymmetrical carpet rather than clean up my room.
I thought maybe since it wasn't MY carpet that might have been the issue. So I bought some carpet from an NPC to try. The floating icon showing where it would be placed wouldn't even appear and no matter how many times I pushed the button to place it, it would not be placed. I was only able to place carpet by unplugging my controller and using a mouse.
I did not try to use the outdoor flooring so I'm unsure if it suffers from the same issue or not. I did not have any issues placing piers outdoors.

- Later in the game, the lily pad to the south of the large square platform in the Central map is hard to select with the controller. There were times I would be trapped on the square platform dancing back and forth trying to get the game to let me select the lily pad.

- While using the flute with a controller, the location names do not change. It would always say Spawning Pool. They do change when using a mouse.

- If an NPC item, like a shiny thing, is put into a backpack, it will not disappear from the backpack after turning it into the NPC. After moving it into the main inventory and talking with the NPC, after you've turned it in, it will then disappear.

- Sometimes if you press the button quickly and repeatedly to break a chest, after you've taken the quest item out, it will duplicate the chest. Never attempted to try before opening the chest while the item was still inside.

- One of the Wilted Skulker variants are also named Wilted Skulker.

- When making a two mushroom mud, the cauldron seemed to 'remember' the previous third mushroom I had in it from mud I had made earlier, even if I cleared the selection after I was done making the first mud. It would only fix itself after I placed a third dust in and deleted it.

https://ibb.co/0VMyhRqQ - first mushroom
https://ibb.co/ksDGH7R9 - second mushroom
https://ibb.co/Nn9D0YJs - the result.
https://ibb.co/Hj9Pzfj - the correct result after I've added and deleted a 3rd mushroom.

Thanks for writing this up! Some responses to some of these:

- clicking on the color coding icon on a crate will toggle it on/off, so you don't have to hammer it to reset, just re-click the color you set :)
- precipiatator usage on gamepad was fixed in an older patch - are you still seeing this on the latest version?
- npc items not disappearing is not a bug, they will only 'take' them if it's in your inventory so that people who want to keep them can and people who want them gone can remove them :)
- it's "Wilted Sulker", just looks similar as it's 1-letter difference

Will have a look at the other reported bugs - for the last one, by "added and deleted a third mushroom" do you mean the 3rd slot, i.e. the bottom one?

Thanks for the quick reply! :MHRISE_happy:

I've just checked the precipitatior and realized that the R stick does in fact move the slider. Sorry. Its just different to all the other machines so I didn't think to try it.

As far as the cauldron goes, yes. I have to add a mushroom to the third empty slot and take it back out before it shows the correct formula in the mud.

Would you be able to send me the save file in which you're seeing this issue with the alchemist? I think it depends on specific hybrids being selected/unselected as i can't replicate in my own save
+++ to being able to see frog variants genetic values somewhere in encyclopedia (on hover for example)
And to more space in Nexus too! I don't like it as a base for two reasons - lack of space and lack of reflection pool (ie to switch between dream world and waking world I need to go somewhere)

I sure can. Should I send it over to you on the discord? Or is another method preferred?
I've never sent a save file before.
seems there's lots of firsts for me with mudborne. :MHRISE_OK:

It wouldn't happen every time I would use it. Just every now and then.

Can send here or email me ell@tngineers.com :)
There's an 'Open Save Folder' button in the top-left of the file select menu, the saves are named like "pond-1.sav"

Believe I found the issue - didn't think about that you were using gamepads!

Have fixed that and a few of the other bugs you found in 1.2.2 :)

Oh wow! I didn't even think that would be an issue either.

Thank you so much for the fixes!! :MHRISE_happy:
