Clone of a clone (Opinion)
This "demo" is a clone, of a $6 clone (Remains), that is in itself a 2 year old demo that ripped off another game (Breathage) 4 months after it came out.

I see some comments claiming this game has similarities to Subnautica. Other then the blatantly ripped off HUD elements, radio logs, storage, UI, and battery swap mechanics...

Yeah, Ok, I see where you're getting that vibe.

This isn't a DEMO, it's a pre-pre-alpha of a proof of concept for a third gen clone.

Everything I see could of been built in a weekend with an asset store, and some know how.

Drop in a character model, use resources of other games for your UI needs, set it in a nice looking back drop, place random assets behind a "demo wall", and scatter the TINY play area with random junk.

BOOM, new clone.

Harsh? Probably, but the only features I see in the Steam photos/video that I don't have access to in the "demo" are a blue shuttle, two slightly larger ships, and one area I couldn't find. I see no end game features past the demo. Nothing to be wowed or excited for.

Like Subnautica and water base environments, Space is a 3D navigation. As for it being a demo, it is a concept so the final product may differ.
It is a time killer no matter how you look at it and it will appeal to those that like to build bases.

Nobody owns a concept. This is as much a clone or a copy as Starbound being a clone of Terrarria, or Diablo being a clone of DOOM because it involves demons from hell.

Eldwen apparently wasn't held enough as a child. Some people just need to complain to feel something.

Every game out there was inspired by something else.

Different engines, different content, different tech trees, different story. Look at breathedge, the first area was a great survival crafting game in space, it suffered later game but not terribly so.

only because some mechanics are similar its a rip off?
then pretty much all new games are rip offs since there is almost no mechanic or gameplay element which was never used before

The most recent videos by Kage848 has me willing to accept I was correct with my last statement that I was probably a bit harsh, but at the time of writing this, I firmly believed in my opinion. Call it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ if you'd like, I'd do the same if you tried to ♥♥♥♥ talk Subnautica or Factorio, so you have merits in your opinions. These were my thoughts at the time of writing them. I hope I turn out to be wrong. Cheers.

Your a moron. Stop whining about two games that launched in 2021? Every game you play today has origins from somebody elses IP. Even Sub ripped off the Survival crafting community. The two games from 2021 did the exact same thing.

Most games on Steam today are heavily inspired by other games. I know you read the part about it being a limited Beta? Harsh I know but the keyword being "Limited".

Yes, because Kage848 is the absolute authority of all this stuff. His statements fit your bios so you double down. None of this is relivant to open limited Beta test. Since all those games have studios behind them. The law suites would have been flying.

I don't see you out there protesting Teams for ripping off discord and WebEx following suite.

Every game is copy of something.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
