That's the entire point of pinning blueprints
There is no modding in the game and acknowledging that is is a common mod only underlines that it's a popular option in these types of games. As OP says. Make it optional, make it a blueprint where you need to build a mod for machines or storage containers to enable it.
I'd say the point is that diving into 4-5 different containers, pulling what you need, crafting, putting excess back in the correct containers and repeating is needless busy work. It's neither enjoyable or challenging. In fact, the only challenge is remembering what you need and pinning removes that. So it's just busy work for the sake of busy work. It gets old fast and becomes a frustration for many.

In most games it's usually not there from the beginning but a later upgrade or research option.
