How to kill Red Cave Aliens

Well the title says it all. I tried with laser cutter, it's not working. Those things really annoying

It's better if you unlock sonic thrusters first as that would help you avoid them better. Go to the dome on the opposite side of the mountain where the cave is and get the key card there for the crew quarters with the thrusters.

Other than that, you do need to use the laser gun. You approach them slowly until you get into range, start firing and backing off while doing it. You should be able to kill them before they reach you. But sonic thrusters would help a lot with it.

Laser cutter can kill them without you taking damage but the timing is tight, too tight imo. Be firing when they aggro you and move backwards, if they still latch on then swap to Scrapper and swing away Merrill.

Make sure you have medkits, O2, and spare batteries for your laser cutter. The laser does indeed kill them. But they can take a lot of damage before popping.

It's better if you get the sonic thrusters first, as you'll be able to fly in reverse much faster and avoid them damaging you.

Lots of spare oxygen tanks and medkits and just use your laser cutter to kill them shoot at distance and back off as your shooting them.

Lots of Oxygen and remember the Engineer's Suit, it adds protection.
The Scrapper needs to have power mods, like the Miner and scanner, so it hit them harder.
