On Finding Iridium...

I was scouring areas I've been, trying to find the last couple blueprint boxes (T2 on Mining Speed and Summon Health). And had this pop up when I did a scanner ping:

One Iridium Asteroid, no toxic suit needed. I found this around the backside of the Old Hub mine, more or less directly on the other side from the airlock. Could be a fluke, but might not be.

I found six spread between various containers, with 5 needed to build a suit. That is without this asteroid.

Don't know what to say, as I warned in my OP, this could have been a fluke. Surprised the heck out of me when it came up on the scanner ping. Part of the reason I grabbed a screen shot at the time showing one outside the toxic cloud.

This was also after I went into the toxic zone, so that might be a requirement.

Maybe it's a bit random. I have one there in my game, only gives 3 iridium though. Try the ping function on the scanner.

I was trying a slightly different start, going to Theta-9 before the Old Hub? And spotted it again. Roughly the same height as the platform on top of the station if it helps.

Edit: Grabbed the coordinates, X: -271130 Y: -96395 Z: 38023 Taken when I was about to smack face first into it. :)

I found the same asteroid, from the mine entrance I went up to the top where there are the storage containers, and just behind that was the iridium asteroid in Nika's picture. It doesn't seem to be a random placement, it's just well hidden among all the iron and copper in the area

Nanites are on another Asteroid belt :)

Still, with a lot of Med Packs you can harvest anyway taking daming and healing up. This is how i got my first half invetory full of irridium, before getting a haz-suite

Also found the screenshot one ! Thank you for the tips ! Very usefull. Just as an advise : look well for the metal objects to locate it easily as it can be missed easily
(Ps : I never went in toxic clouds before, so no requirements for it)

Can confirm it is still there, cannot stress how small it is for those looking for it - it is about the size of the player's body. It is almost exactly level with the containers on the pad, top of the mine.

Yes, confirming it is still there. Wasn't able to find it with the scanner, but by viewing the picture, I was able to locate it lately.
