Aim at the module to deconstruct and hold the 'N' key down.
I love that you can still change Tools while in the Menus/Inventory, and you can select Build Options while manoeuvring (Thrust /Forwards/ Up / Down etc, while selecting "Build Battery" etc).
That is so conducive.
-
I love that Beacons and Signals are Hidden while you are in your base (prevents a lot of unnecessary visual garbage). It took me ages to notice this, but proved it was an excellent immersion choice.
-
Copy Buildable is fantastic, and a great quality of life function.
Building in general in this game is so pleasing. The addition of Vertical Hallways and Zero-G was a delight, and something I hope to experiment more with. The windows are big and lovely too. It is hard not to put windows everywhere they can be put.

Single Quartz seem to respawn at the start (outside the capsule), and also beside another open capsule. Initially this bothered me as I had already cleared the areas, but when I started to run out of Quartz I was happy to make trips back to the start zone each session to grab another 5-10 Quartz.

[ISSUES:]
-
The Keybinds really need some work.
Controls aren't distinguishing the keyboard Arrow keys from being different to the Numpad Arrow keys, or any of the Numpad keys from their alternate options (I can't use Page Down and Numpad 3, as the game recognises Numpad 3 only as Page Down, same with Page Up and Numpad 9 etc).
Basically within one minute of buying the game I've realised as a Left Handed Player, I can't play this game with any degree of comfort.
At least the Prologue distinguished the difference between these key functions, even if both Prologue and EA version still have [Enter] as the Command Console (which could do with a keybind option too, as when I accidentally press it I have to then move my hand all the way across the keyboard just to press ESC.)
I had to use a program to rebind my keyboard so I could play this game. But I am glad I did :-D
-
No way to leave the Logs (Messages Terminal) without pressing escape.
As a Left Handed Player this means moving my hand to the opposite side of the keyboard to press one button. An [X] button on screen to click on would but much more conclusive, such as on the Terminal for Signals screen.
The Inventory screen could also use an [X] button too (I discovered while drinking coffee with my keyboard hand, and there being nothing to click to close my inventory with my mouse hand while I slurped).
-
Doesn't say in the controls but while accessing Storage, [Hold] L-Shift is Take/Deposit ALL of same resource, and you can also [Hold] L-Shift and drag from Stack to adjust (take One each time).
As these aren't in the controls they cannot be rebound.
As a Left Handed Player I have to move my hand across the keyboard every time I want to Take/Deposit All, or Adjust a Stack.
It gets quite frustrating.
-
Same with Build Many, only the L-Shift (+Mouse Wheel) works for changing the amount that is being crafted (R-Shift does not work). So I have to cross the keyboard for that too.
It gets to a point where I start to feel like a classical pianist, jumping my hand from one side of the keyboard to the other.
Now that I put it that way, it sounds fun...
(but it isn't) :-)
-
Deconstruct button isn't displayed correctly in game (if re-bound). Mine keeps saying "Hold N to Deconstruct", despite rebinding to R-CTRL.
-
-
Game Play issues or Points of Note:
Builder Tool Tab keeps defaulting to Base Building, despite whatever Tab the player last selected.
-
Unsure how to separate stacks?
I want to leave some food and drink at base, but can only leave all my food and drink.
[Edit:] From reading the forums here - While in Inventory [Hold] L-Shift and drag, it will take 1 from the stack.
-
Have to remove Tool from Toolbar to Backpack, to change which Slot it is in (cannot simply drag from one slot to another).
-
Cannot swap items around in Storage/Inventory, can only move items to empty slots (sometimes. It is intermittent, can't work out quite when it can and can't. Some items definitely swap sometimes)
-
Keep getting stuck in a "Slow Walk" every time after entering my base or a facility, or sometimes after exiting storage, or using a Fabricator, or coming out of a lift (vertical hallway) or walking off of a bed - so basically every time I "change levels/screen" or go from floating to walking.
I "override" it by pressing run and can move normally again.
Unsure if that works in space after exiting a facility, I often seem to be moving very slowly.
-
After exiting a facility via a ladder in the ground (Floating island #X89) I got stuck in the ground, I used [Unstuck] which put me back at the start - I don't recall there being any warning about losing my entire inventory though.
After making my way back 1000+m to Skipper Vehicle, which was left behind, I noticed a box underground that I could only see momentarily when exiting the facility again (floating island hatch). It took a few goes, but I was able to glitch back into the ground on exiting, get all my stuff back, and boost / jump out of the ground.
-
Gargaol and Celestite Deposite Seeds share the same resource icon. A variation would be nice.
-
Engineer and Toxic Zone Suit Icons could be more interesting (from the coloured squares currently)
-
6 Tools currently, but only 5 Toolbar Slots. Some way of not having to open Inventory and drag a Tool out of the Toolbar, to click a different Tool into the Toolbar would be great (+1 Toolbar Slot, Weapon Switch button, something).
-
Accessing the Recycler "Sorts" my Inventory (changes how items are layed out). I keep having to rearrange everything back to how I have it layed out.
-
Wall Photo Displayer pictures aren't being remembered on loading save, they default back to default space ship picture (these are pictures I added to the Astrometica picture folder on my PC, I didn't actually try it with Photo Mode in-game pictures).
-
I think it would be good if you could also attach a Beacon to your base, as well as having it float outside.
_
I've died once, and nearly died twice now from being low on Food or Drink, and there is no warning sounds?
I was just moving things around in storage and noticed I was at 0% water and my life had gone down to 50%, and there was no sounds/notifications (that I recall hearing).
My UI Volume is higher than anything else. Maybe the [Warnings] come under a different setting?, or could benefit fromhaving their own setting that can be adjusted
-
The Deconstruct Bar could be a little easier to see.
Sometimes I struggle to see if it is in the process of deconstructing, depending on what the background is that the bar is in front of (eg: white floor and walls with white deconstruct bar).
-
How about an internal teleporter?
The game handles teleporting so well and quickly, that it could be used as a lift system for going between floors in your base?
The only issue I see with using the current one is too many entries to select from if it also covers every other teleporter you've built (as well as this base's floors).
-
When Beacons and Signals are off screen the Arrow Icon could match their colour, so that it is easier to turn to where a Beacon / Signal is by the corresponding coloured arrow on the edge of the screen.
-
I never found the 4th Deposit Miner Blueprint, despite being very thorough in the 24 hours I played - I assumed I had missed it somewhere (like I nearly missed the Oxygen Station parts, I just thought they were space junk and never got close enough to them!) but from reading all 29 pages here - it seems possible there is an issue. [Edit:] I found the 4th Deposit Miner, just needed to get closer to deposits, for it to spawn into view.
-
No Lightbulb or Fertiliser Recipe?
-
Sumon Vehicle and all Upgrades have disappeared after peeking into the two available zones and seeing the EA message (despite saving beforehand, and reloading my save).
-
I know there is plans for voice acting, but I feel like sometimes too much dialogue can be over bearing.
Something that I think would help with the voice logs would be some kind of logo for associated logs. For example, the Mining Company logs could all have an "M" in the corner, Science have a Science-Style Border. It would help players to work out who is connected to who etc (unless I am mistaken and all logs are mining company?)
-
Other than keybind issues, and the Build Tab keep defaulting to Base Building, I got used to everything else.
I was lucky to have only one "Stuck" incident, and it seems most people are having the Vehicle disappear issue.
Feeling cute, might play through it all again <3
I have a problem with the game i just bought. It crashes on startup. I've checked all the files, but it's still the same. Otherwise, I'll have to request a refund. Thank you for help
Okay, thanks. Yes, I'd like to join Discord. I took a picture of the error I'm getting. I don't see the channel fatal errors?
